The Neues Wiener Konservatorium (New Vienna Conservatory) was a music school established in Vienna by Theobald Kretschmann in 1909. In 1929 it had the largest number of enrolled students during its lifetime.
Other names include Privatmusikschule Theobald Kretschmann and Neues Konservatorium für Musik.
Among its faculty were Richard Robert (briefly its director), Simon Pullman and Severin Eisenberger.

Heinrich Schenker was a music theorist, music critic, teacher, pianist, and composer. He is best known for his approach to musical analysis, now usually called Schenkerian analysis.
The University of Music and Theatre "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig is a public university in Leipzig. Founded in 1843 by Felix Mendelssohn as the Conservatorium der Musik , it is the oldest university school of music in Germany.
Trossingen is a town in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated in a region called Baar, between the Swabian Alb and the Black Forest. Stuttgart is about an hour away, Lake Constance about half an hour, and the source of the river Danube can be reached in about twenty minutes by car. Trossingen is renowned as a "music town". Although it has only nearly 17,000 inhabitants as of December 31, 2018, the town is home to the renowned 'University of Music Trossingen', which is one of Baden-Württemberg's five state conservatories, and there are several other institutions specializing in musical education, like the 'Bundesakademie für musikalische Jugendbildung' and the 'Hohner Konservatorium'.
The Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna in Vienna, Austria, is a university of music and the arts. It was previously (2005−2015) named Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität, and before that Konservatorium Wien. It was established in 1938 as Musikschule der Stadt Wien. The school attained university status on 15 June 2005, as a private institution.

As a Viennese piano teacher, Richard Robert was discussed in the same breath as Emil von Sauer and Theodor Leschetizky. He stood often in the shadow of his famous brother Paul but was rediscovered in recent years as a composer of an opera, a piano concerto, chamber music and piano pieces.

August Göllerich was an Austrian pianist, conductor, music educator and music writer. He studied the piano with Franz Liszt, who made him also his secretary and companion on concert tours. Göllerich is known for studying the life and work of Anton Bruckner whose secretary and friend he was. He initiated and conducted concerts of Bruckner's music in Linz, and wrote an influential biography.
