New Berlin West Middle/High School is a public middle/high school located in New Berlin, Wisconsin. It is a part of the School District of New Berlin. The school serves grades 7 through 12. The school colors are blue and gold, and the school mascot is the Viking.

Contents

From 2001 through 2007, the school underwent major construction, [5] including a new theater, a new fieldhouse with an indoor track and tennis courts, an upgraded and relocated library, and a new 10-classroom wing. [5] Renovations were also made to the bathrooms and workout facilities. The class of 2007 was the first to host graduation in the new fieldhouse.

Athletics

West has a rivalry with the other New Berlin public high school, Eisenhower.

New Berlin West's 2010 baseball team made it to the state tournament for the first time. [6] The school's 2013 baseball team won the state tournament for the first time.

2018 Anti-Semitic allegations

In 2018, New Berlin West halted its yearbook distribution after the school learned that a senior student chose a yearbook quote referring to the Holocaust. His quote read, "There will always be one true Final Solution." A spokesman of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation was on record as finding the quote "very disturbing and upsetting". Terribly disappointing. [7]

Pine Bluff High School (PBHS) is a comprehensive public high school in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, United States. Thomas J. Fleming was an American distance runner who won the 1973 and 1975 New York City Marathon. He was also a two time runner-up in the Boston Marathon in 1973 and 1974 and finished six times in the top ten in the BAA marathon. Fleming was the winner of the Cleveland, Toronto, Los Angeles, Jersey Shore and Washington DC marathons in the 1970s. He set a personal best of 2:12:05 in the Boston Marathon 1975, and was renowned for running 110 to 150 miles per week to train for road racing. He was awarded the United Nations Peace Medal in 1977.

Burton F. Gustafson was an American athlete and sports coach. After attending Northern Michigan University (NMU) where he was a three-sport star, he coached several high school football, basketball, and track and field teams. He then returned to NMU where he served from 1956 to 1961 as a coach in four sports. He later was an assistant coach for the Wyoming Cowboys and coach and administrator for the Green Bay Packers.
