New Youngs Sports Club is a Sri Lankan professional football club based in Wennappuwa. The club competes in the top division football league, the Sri Lanka Super League. [1]

The club was established by Rohitha Fernando in Wennappuwa. In 1990, the club finished as champions of the third division. In 1994, they emerged as second division champions, a feat they repeated in 1996, which led to the team's promotion to the first division. In 2005, New Youngs SC reached the semi-final of the national FA Cup, where they were defeated 2–0 by Saunders.

It was sponsored by Cargills for the 4th consecutive year, and known as Cargills Food City FA Cup. There were 672 clubs participating in 66 leagues around the country. The tournament began on 24 November 2016 with the preliminary round.

The 2018 Sri Lanka FA Cup was the 56th season of Sri Lanka FA Cup, the top-tier knockout football tournament in Sri Lanka. A total of 715 teams would participate.

The 2018–19 Sri Lanka Champions League, known as the 2018–19 Dialog Champions League due to sponsorship reasons, was the 34th season of the Sri Lanka Champions League, the top-tier football league in Sri Lanka. The season started on 21 October 2018, rather than original scheduled date of June, due to the 2018 SAFF Championship, and ended on 24 February 2019.

The 2021 Sri Lanka Super League was the first season of Sri Lanka Super League, after a significant 3 Year delay resulting in Sri Lanka Football having a dry period of a lack of top division football. Today it was meant to be the top division of Sri Lankan football. The season after numerous political delays and lack of preparation finally kicked off in the middle of the pandemic on 19 April 2021. The Super League was the brainchild of the current President Jaswar Umar.

Shabeer Razooniya is a Sri Lankan footballer who plays as a striker for Colombo FC of the Sri Lanka Champions League, and the Sri Lanka national football team.
