The National Basketball League (NBL) is a men's semi-professional basketball league in New Zealand.
David Cooper is an Australian former professional basketball player who played the majority of his career in the Australian National Basketball League (ANBL). He also played in the New Zealand NBL and the South Australian State League.

However, with two fewer teams in 2015, it was decided the new format would be played over two and half rounds to keep incomes at a similar rate for the remaining sides. Each team was scheduled to play each other twice and play three of the sides in a third game.

Willie James Burton Jr. is an American-New Zealand former professional basketball player who spent 19 seasons playing in the New Zealand National Basketball League (NBL). Burton came to New Zealand in the mid-1980s to play for Palmerston North and became a league legend. He kept himself in great shape and was still playing top basketball when he turned 40. He won six rebounding titles and ranks as the league's all-time leader around the boards. He finished his career with 4,244 career rebounds, nearly 1,500 rebounds more than the next best individual rebounding total.
The 2016 NBL season was the 35th season of the National Basketball League. The league's team total dropped to an all-time low for the 2016 season, with the departure of the Manawatu Jets leaving the competition with seven teams.
Lincoln "Link" Abrams is an American-New Zealand former professional basketball player who played 10 seasons in the National Basketball League (NBL). He moved to New Zealand in 2002 to play for the Taranaki Stormers of the Conference Basketball League, helping the team win the league title and promoting them to the NBL in 2003. He continued on with the Taranaki franchise throughout the 2000s, carving out what was a decorated NBL career with numerous individual awards, but achieved little team success with the Mountainairs.
The 2017 NBL season was the 36th season of the National Basketball League. For the second year in a row, the league fielded seven teams.
The 2020 NBL season will be the 39th season of the National Basketball League.
