The fourth season received positive reviews from critics, holding a 71% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. [5] Maria Elena Fernandez of the Los Angeles Times wrote "Perhaps the show's continued success can be attributed to its restless energy and how in one hour it offers a taste of several different genres, mixing the real with the outrageous", [6] whilst Brian Lowry wrote for Variety , "As always, the series manages to glorify surface beauty while subjecting society's obsession with it to a harsh glare, holding up the strange cases that waltz in as a mirror to the Sean-Julia-Christian triangle. The dialogue remains biting as well." [7] Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune praised the character development, writing "That sense of saucy transgression married to surprisingly effective character development – the magic formula of the first two seasons – is a bit wobbly this year, but Nip/Tuck is more or less back on track." [8] Some reviews were less favorable, with Joe Reid of The Atlantic writing "This stretch of Nip/Tuck was just uninspired ... [It has] its own urban-legend charm, but all the main characters were seriously spinning their wheels", [9] whilst other critics argued the show did not live up to the quality of previous seasons and criticized many imbued scenes. Nip/Tuck is an American medical drama television series created by Ryan Murphy that aired on FX in the United States from July 22, 2003, to March 3, 2010. The series, which also incorporates elements of crime drama, black comedy, family drama, satire, and psychological thriller, focuses on "McNamara/Troy", a cutting-edge, controversial plastic surgery center, and follows the personal and professional lives of its founders Dr. Sean McNamara and Dr. Christian Troy. Each episode features graphic, partial depictions of the plastic surgeries on one or more patients, as well as developments in the doctors' personal lives. Focus is also given to McNamara/Troy's anesthesiologist Dr. Liz Cruz, Christian's many sexual partners, and Sean's family. With the exception of the pilot, each episode of the series is named after one of the patients scheduled to receive plastic surgery.

Grossman also had a recurring role on the television series 10 Things I Hate About You, a reboot of the original cult classic movie of the same name.
