The Oromia Region is one of the nine regional states of Ethiopia, the homeland of the Oromo. It is bordered by the Somali Region to the east; the Amhara Region, the Afar Region and the Benishangul-Gumuz Region to the north; South Sudan, Gambela Region, and Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region to the west; and Kenya to the south. East Shewa is located in the middle of Oromia, connecting the western regions to the eastern ones. Abichuna Gne'a is one of the woredas in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia. This woreda is named in part for the Abichu Oromo. Part of the Semien Shewa Zone, Abichuna Gne'a is bordered on the south by Kembibit, on the west by Wuchalena Jido, and on the north and east by the Amhara Region. The major town in Abichuna Gne'a is Mendida.

Adama Zuria is one of the districts, or woredas, in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Misraq Shewa Zone located in the Great Rift Valley, Adama Zuria is bordered on the south by the Arsi Zone, on the southwest by Koka Reservoir which separates it from Dugda Bora, on the west by Lome, on the north by the Amhara Region, and on the east by Boset; the Awash River, the only important river in this woreda, defines the woreda boundaries on the east and south. Other towns in this woreda include Awash Melkasa, Shewa Alemtena, Sire Robi, Sodere and Wenji Gefersa.

Southwest Shewa, also South West Shewa, is one of the zones of the Oromia Region in Ethiopia. This zone takes its name from the kingdom or former province of Shewa. Between 2002 and 2005, a number of woredas were separated from West Shewa Zone to create Southwest Shewa Zone. Inhabitants of this zone include an assimilation between the Oromo and Gurage peoples, the Chebo people.

Debre Libanos is one of the woredas in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia. It is named after the important monastery of Debre Libanos. It was part of former Yaya Gulelena Debre Liban woreda. Part of the Semien Shewa Zone, Debre Libanos is bordered on the north west by Gerar Jarso, on the south west by Yaya Gulele, on the south and south east by Wuchale and on the north east by Amhara Region. The administrative center of Debre Libanos is Debre Tsige.

Jido is one of the woredas in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia. It was part of former Wuchalena Jido woreda. Part of the Semien Shewa Zone, Jido is bordered on the north west by Wuchale, on the north by Amhara Region, on the north east by Abichuna Gne'a, on the east by Kembibit and on the south by Bereh and Aleltu.
