MMC is structured as a non-profit, private corporation governed by volunteer trustees.

Togus is a facility operated by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs in Chelsea, Maine. The facility was built as a resort hotel, and housed Union veterans of the American Civil War prior to being converted to a veterans hospital. It was the first veterans facility developed by the United States government.

The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine is an American medical school located in Burlington, Vermont and associated with the University of Vermont (UVM). Established in 1822, it is the nation's seventh oldest medical school. The primary teaching hospital for the Larner College of Medicine is the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
RFA Maine was a 7,432 GRT hospital ship which was built in 1924 as the ocean liner Leonardo da Vinci by SA Ansaldo, La Spezia, Italy for the Società di Navigazione Transatlantica Italiana. In 1941, she was captured by the British at Kismayu, Italian Somaliland. Declared a prize of war, she was passed to the Ministry of War Transport (MoWT) and renamed Empire Clyde, serving as a hospital ship for the British Army during the Second World War. In 1948, ownership was passed to the Admiralty and she entered service with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary as RFA Maine. She served during the Korean War and was scrapped in 1954.
The Central Maine Medical Center is a hospital located at 300 Main Street in the city of Lewiston, Maine. It serves most of Androscoggin County, including Lewiston and Auburn, Maine and various small and medium-sized communities. The hospital was established in the 1860s and officially incorporated in 1888 by Dr. Edward H. Hill, an alumnus of nearby Bates College and also Harvard Medical School. The hospital is currently a teaching affiliate of Boston University School of Medicine and University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Eastern Maine Medical Center is a hospital located in Bangor, Maine that serves communities throughout central, eastern, and northern Maine. EMMC is the second largest hospital in the state with 411 inpatient beds, serves more than 40% of the population of the state, and is the sixth largest employer in the state. EMMC is the only provider of trauma care in its class, and the only advanced critical care provider, in eastern and northern Maine.
Gerard P. Conley Sr. was an American politician from Maine. Conley, a Democrat, served in the Maine House of Representatives from 1964 to 1968 and in Maine Senate from 1968 to 1984. He spent his final term in the Senate as President of the Maine Senate (1983–1984). His son, Jerry Conley, served in the House from 1986 to 1990 and Senate from 1990 to 1994.
