Nosy Tsarabanjina is a small island off the northwest coast of Madagascar in the Mitsio archipelago, situated near Nosy Be and Nosy Mitsio.

It received a small amount of fame in 1994 when BBC Reality TV programme Girl Friday featured Joanna Lumley spending 10 days on the island and living firstly on an A Frame bed, and then in "the Albert Hall cave". Since the BBC programme, the Island has been taken over by a hotel.

Antankarana Ethnic group of Madagascar

The Antankarana are an ethnic group of Madagascar inhabiting the northern tip of Madagascar, around Antsiranana. Their name means "the people of the tsingy," the limestone rock formations that distinguish their traditional territory. The tsingy of the Antankarana may be visited at the Ankarana Reserve. There are over 50,000 Antakarana in Madagascar as of 2013.

Nosy Mitsio

Nosy Mitsio is an island off the northwest coast of Madagascar. It is located 70 km north-east of Nosy Be and 60 km north-west of the city of Ambilobe. Owing to the Mitsio archipelago being distant from other large bodies of land, Nosy Mitsio offers crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches, lush coconut palms and a marine fauna with abundant reefs distant from the island perimeter. Nosy Mitsio is the only inhabited island of the Mitsio archipelago. Nosy Mitsio is very rural: it has no infrastructural development and is populated mainly by small family villages. There are several primary schools and very limited access to healthcare services. Most inhabitants of Nosy Mitsio are subsistence rice farmers who also use a variety of fishing methods and shellfish gathering. Supplemental income is provided through salting fish, diving for sea cucumbers, and gathering coconuts - all of which is sold at Port St Louis, the nearest port on mainland Madagascar.

It is broadcast from 11:00-13:00 and is followed by the BBC News at One usually with Sophie Raworth or Kate Silverton. The first programme was broadcast on the BBC News Channel on 21 March 2016 presented by Joanna Gosling. The main presenters include Gosling, Annita McVeigh and formerly Carrie Gracie. The programme's motto is "Stay up to date on the day's top stories, with the latest breaking news as it happens." During the COVID-19 pandemic, Joanna Gosling usually presents Monday-Wednesday with Martine Croxall often presenting Thursday-Friday but other presenters can present as relief. The Weather in the Streets is a 1983 British drama film directed by Gavin Millar and starring Michael York, Lisa Eichhorn and Joanna Lumley. Adapted from the novel of the same title by Rosamond Lehmann, it originally premiered at the London Film Festival in November 1983 before being broadcast on BBC Two in February 1984.
