Bride of Insect (1990)

Although previous album Caveat was a full-length release, Bride of Insect is often regarded as their first album because it was their first released by the Wild Rags label, and their first to be recorded in a studio. Bride of Insect was reissued in 2000 on a single CD along with the album's follow-up Carrion for Worm (1992).

Wild Rags Records was a record label and store in Montebello, California. It was founded in the 1980s by Ricardo Campos. Though Wild Rags started out as a record store in East LA releasing cassette from bands such as Cherry Street, the zine later distributed influential releases by the likes of Nuclear Death, Impetigo, Brutality, Blood, Sigh, Blasphemy as well as Necrophobic, Nuctemeron, and Extreme Smoke. Richard C would later concentrate on distributing Brazilian heavy metal and selling catalogues.

This album was edited only on tape. In 2000, it was reissued on CD by Extremist Records, combined with For Our Dead (1992). This is the first release without original guitarist Phil Hampson, as Lori Bravo and Steve Cowan took over guitar duties.

Sebadoh is an American indie rock band formed in 1988 in Northampton, Massachusetts, by Eric Gaffney and Dinosaur Jr. bass player Lou Barlow. Along with such bands as Pavement and Guided by Voices, Sebadoh helped pioneer lo-fi music, a style of indie rock characterized by low-fidelity recording techniques, often on four-track machines. Elverum was the principal songwriter and producer behind the band's albums, but he has also collaborated with other local musicians on his other recordings and tours. Many of Elverum's recordings from this period were released by the label K Records. Since 2003 Elverum has recorded and performed under the name Mount Eerie.

Pussy Galore was an American garage rock band that formed in Washington, D.C. in 1985. They had a constantly fluid line-up until their demise in 1990. They took their name from the character in the James Bond film, Goldfinger, and their sound was inspired by the Velvet Underground and the New York Dolls.
