Nuova Cometra S.r.l. is an Italian company that operates in the field of interior designing and manufacturing of walls, doors, windows, and floors providing a range of products and processes for manufacturers of all transport carriages: trains, planes, ships, yachts, buses, and tubes.
The plant is situated within the industrial area of Giammoro, in Pace del Mela, just outside Messina. It is about 50,000 square metres of which 14,000 are indoors.
The indoor area of the plant is divided into departments: Joinery and bench work, Carpentry, Sticking, Welding, Painting, Pressing, Forging, Cutting and sectioning, Edge bending, Engineering and design, indoor storeroom, indoor track to allow carriages in.
History
Nuova Cometra dates back to 1982 when “Cometra” was founded to manufacture train components such as boarding, windows, keels, seats and internal walls.
The production continued for 16 years, up until the time when the market group leader Ansaldobreda decided to dismiss it.[clarification needed]
In 1999 the company acquired the factory to bring it back to its golden days.
At present the company offers internal wall linings, internal gangways, ceiling drops, window lines, boarding doors, side and end doors, floors and windows, covering a wide range of needs for interior furbishing in the transport field.

The K sets are a class of electric multiple units that currently operate on the Sydney Trains network. All of the 40 K sets originally built remain in service and are currently the oldest in the Sydney Trains fleet.

The S sets are a class of electric multiple units that operated on Sydney's suburban rail network from 1972 up until 2019. Originally entering service under the Public Transport Commission, the sets also operated under the State Rail Authority, CityRail and Sydney Trains. Prior to their retirement, the S sets were the last class in the Sydney Trains fleet to not be air-conditioned, earning them the nicknames "Tin cans" and "Sweat Sets". They were also nicknamed "Ridgys" because of their fluted ("ridged") stainless steel panelling; they shared this nickname with similar looking K sets and C sets. Their stainless steel appearance was also shared with the intercity V sets and the long retired U sets. The final sets were withdrawn from service in June 2019.

The East Rail line Metro Cammell EMU was a model of electric multiple unit built in 1980–1990 by Metro-Cammell for the original Kowloon–Canton Railway in Hong Kong. The 29 sets were owned by and were originally operated by the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC). They were operated by MTR Corporation (MTRC) after it merged with KCRC in 2007. The trains derived their name from Sir Thomas James Tait, the chairman of commissioners of the Victorian Railways from 1903 to 1910.
