Nyarutarama is an affluent suburb of Kigali, Rwanda. The area is well developed with modern roads, sidewalks and street lighting. One of the key features of the suburb is "Lover's Lake" in the "Nyarutarama" valley, bordering on "Kigali Golf Course" to the west. The lake is surrounded by a walking track set within lush green vegetation and abundant bird life.

Nyarutarama is primarily an upscale residential area especially favoured by embassy and high commission residences, but also has a number of services including good restaurants, a shopping centre and a large International Baccalaureate Diploma Program international school, Green Hills Academy.

Eastlakes is located 8 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Bayside Council, Eastlakes is mostly residential with a shopping centre located at Evans Avenue. The residential portion of the suburb falls in the inner south being west of the Eastern Distributor while the non-residential side of the suburb consisting of The Lakes Golf Course and Botany Dams is east of the Eastern Distributor falling within the Eastern Suburbs, south-east of the CBD.

Kigali International Airport, formerly known as Kanombe International Airport, is the primary international airport serving Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. As of June 2024, there is an ongoing project to build another mega-airport in Bugesera District, Eastern Province, which will be the biggest and the main air gateway for all destinations in the country, in addition to serving as a transit airport for Goma and Bukavu in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Windale is a suburb of the city of Lake Macquarie, in the Newcastle metropolitan area. It is located west of the junction of the Pacific Highway and Newcastle Inner City Bypass, covering an area of 1.7 km2 (0.7 sq mi). Windale is a lower socio-economic area consisting largely of public housing homes, and has historically been known for its high rates of alcoholism, crime and unemployment, however recent local government efforts to regenerate the area have been somewhat successful. Lake Muhazi is a long thin shallow lake in the east of Rwanda. The bulk of the lake lies in the Eastern Province, with the western end forming the border between the Northern and Kigali Provinces. It is a flooded valley lake, lying predominantly in an east to west direction, but with numerous offshoots in a north to south direction, formerly the location of tributaries. The lake has a concrete dam at the western end, constructed in 1999 to replace an earth dam which had existed since time immemorial. The lake empties into the Nyabugogo River, which flows southwards to Kigali where it meets the Nyabarongo River, part of the upper Nile.
