Oliver Gledhill (born 1966) is an English cellist.
Oliver is Professor of Cello at Junior Guildhall and also teaches at Mill Hill School. He was a Scholar at the Guildhall School of Music and won numerous awards including the ISTEL/Redditch Music Society Competition. He studied with many eminent cellists including William Pleeth, Edmund Kurtz and André Navarra.
He has given acclaimed recitals at the Wigmore Hall and Purcell Room, including three in the Kirckman Concert Society Series. Festival appearances have included solo performances in England, France, Italy, Mallorca and the Czech Republic. Oliver has recorded eight CDs, including the complete works by Leon Boellmann, which was awarded five stars for performance by BBC Music Magazine, and has been played on ABC Classic FM (Australian Radio) and RTBF musiq3 (Belgian Radio).
Oliver Gledhill has recently (2013) completed a PhD at the Royal Academy of Music on cellist-composer WH Squire (1871–1963), his cello miniatures and the use of portamento. On Sunday 20 January 2013 Oliver Gledhill accompanied by Tadashi Imai on piano gave a concert "The best of WH Squire for cello" at Duke’s Hall, Royal Academy of Music to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of WH Squire. The cello miniatures were presented with descriptions and illustrations in the context of the life and work of WH Squire.

The Russian-born British/German cellist Leonid Gorokhov studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatoire with Anatoli Nikitin and took part in masterclasses with Daniil Shafran. Winner of Concertino Praga and Paris Chamber Music Competition, Leonid Gorokhov is the only Russian cellist to be awarded the Grand Prix and the First Prize of the Geneva Concours (1986). In 1995 the European Association for Encouragement of the Arts awarded the Cultural Achievement Prize to Leonid Gorokhov for exceptional talent and outstanding artistic accomplishment.
Jules Delsart was a French cellist and teacher. He is best known for his arrangement for cello and piano of César Franck's Violin Sonata in A major. Musicologist Lynda MacGregor described Delsart as "one of the foremost French cellists of the period, with faultless technique, a precise bow and a sweet, though not large, tone." He was the owner of the 1689 'Archinto' Stradivari.
Edward Howell, FRAM was a British cellist and music professor of the late 19th century. He studied cello at the Royal Academy of Music in London later becoming professor of cello at the Royal College of Music, the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music in London.

Sheku Kanneh-Mason is a British cellist who won the 2016 BBC Young Musician award. He was the first Black musician to win the competition since its launch in 1978. He played at the wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle on 19 May 2018 under the direction of Christopher Warren-Green. As of 2021, Kanneh-Mason plays a Matteo Goffriller cello that was made in 1700.

Li-Wei Qin is a Chinese-Australian cellist. He won the Silver Medal at the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1998, and First Prize at the 2001 International Naumburg Competition in New York.
Margaret Marie Dare, usually known as Marie Dare, was a Scottish composer and cellist, born in Newport-on-Tay. She composed mostly chamber music, including several string quartets and a quintet. Some of her cello music written for educational purposes is still in use today.
