Oliver Sundberg (born 16 February 1982) is a Danish speedskater. Along with Cathrine Grage, Sundberg is the first Danish speedskater to reach international competition levels since Kurt Stille ended his career in 1964.
His 2006 and 2007 results were good enough to pass the qualification limits of the International Skating Union for participation in the European Championships. He also regularly competes in ISU's World Cup.
Sundberg started breaking Stille's 41-year-old Danish records on 19 March 2005, when he skated 42.65 in the 500-m and 2:06.51 in the 1,500-m at races in Groningen. Sundberg later broke Stille's other national records, and has repeatedly improved his own best results. As of March 2007, Sundberg has set a Danish record of 36 Danish records. Currently, these are 38.35 (500-m), 1:16.62 (1000-m), 1:53.32 (1500-m), 6:48.67 (5,000-m), and 14:25.57 (10,000-m). When establishing his two most recent Danish records on the 500-m and 1500-m at the Calgary races 10–11 March 2007, Sundberg passed the five-time 1980 Olympic gold winner Eric Heiden on the Adelskalenderen.

Sven Kramer is a retired Dutch long track speed skater who has won an all time record nine World Allround Championships as well as a record ten European Allround Championships. He is the Olympic champion of the 5000 meters at the Vancouver 2010, Sochi 2014 and Pyeongchang 2018 Olympics, and won a record 21 gold medals at the World Single Distance Championships; eight in the 5000 meters, five in the 10,000 meters, and eight in the team pursuit. Kramer used to be the world record holder in the team pursuit and broke the world records in the 5000 meter and 10,000 meter events three times. By winning the 2010 World Allround Championship, Kramer became the first speed skater in history to win four consecutive world allround championships and eight consecutive international all round championships. He was undefeated in the 18 international allround championships he participated in from the 2006/2007 season until the 2016/2017 season. From November 2007 to March 2009, he was ranked first in the Adelskalender, but despite his dominance as an all-round skater he has since been overtaken on that list by Shani Davis and, more recently, by his teammate Patrick Roest.
Cindy Klassen, is a Canadian retired long track speed skater. She is a six-time medallist having achieved one gold, two silver, three bronze at the Winter Olympics.
Irene Karlijn (Ireen) Wüst is a Dutch former long track speed skater of German ancestry. Wüst became the most successful speed skating Olympian ever by achieving at least one gold medal in each of five consecutive Winter Olympic appearances. Wüst is also the only athlete to win an individual gold medal in five consecutive Olympics, Summer or Winter.
Charles Hamelin is a Canadian retired short track speed skater. In a competitive career that spanned nearly twenty years on the international circuit, Hamelin participated in five Winter Olympic Games and won six Olympic medals, including a national-best four gold medals. Competing in all distances, he won thirty-eight medals at the World Championships, including fourteen gold medals, and also led Canada to five world relay titles. Hamelin was also the 2014 Overall World Cup season winner and the 2018 Overall World Champion, giving him all the achievements available in the sport.
Denmark sent a delegation to compete at the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria from 29 January to 9 February 1964. This was Denmark's fourth time participating in a Winter Olympic Games. The Danish delegation consisted of two athletes, cross-country skier Svend Carlsen and speed skater Kurt Stille. Carlsen placed outside the top 50 in both his events. Stille finished 9th in the men's 10,000 meters, the best performance by a Danish athlete at these Games.
Martina Sáblíková is a Czech speed skater, specializing in long track speed skating. She is an Olympic gold medal winner and a multiple European and World allround champion. She became the first Czech to win two Olympic gold medals at one Winter Games in 2010. Sáblíková also competes in inline speed skating and road cycling races as a part of her summer preparation for the skating season. In cycling, she focuses on individual time trial discipline in which Sáblíková holds multiple Czech Republic National Championships titles and belongs to the world's top 15 female time-trialists. Sáblíková is the elder sister of fellow speedskater Milan Sáblík.
Cathrine Grage is a Danish speedskater, inline skater and cyclist. As of January 2012, Grage has set a total of 61 successive national records, and holds all of the Danish women's records in speed skating, at all distances. In addition, she holds various national samalogue records, though not all of these have been ratified by the Danish skating association.
Kurt Robert Stille is a former Danish speed skater, who competed at top international levels from 1957 to 1964.
Janne Hänninen is a Finnish former speedskater who specialised on the shorter distances 500 m, 1000 m, and 1500 m. His personal bests on these distances are 35.00, 1:08.45, and 1:46.04. He participated in three Olympics and a string of World Single Distance Championships and World Sprint Speed Skating Championships. Janne Hänninen is the son of former Finnish speedskater Seppo Hänninen, who also participated in three Olympics.
Casper Helling is a Dutch speedskater, specialising in marathon skating and the longer distances. On 15 March 2007 at the Utah Olympic Oval in Salt Lake City, Helling skated 41.969 km in one hour, which was the current world record in this event. Helling's result was 300 m better than the previous world record, set by Henk Angenent in March 2004. It was bested by Douwe de Vries who covered 42.252 km in one hour on March 14, 2015. Among his other achievements is a gold medal on the 10,000-m in the Dutch single distances championship for the 2001–2002 season. In recent years Casper Helling has won 3 races of 200 km distance on natural ice: Kuopio, Finland, in 2004, Kuopio, Finland in 2008 and Weissensee, Austria in 2009.
Haralds Silovs is a Latvian long track and former short track speed skater, who became the 2008 and 2011 European champion in short track. He has participated in three Winter Olympics. In 2018, he finished fourth at speed skating 1500 metres event.

Sung Si-Bak is a South Korean short track speed skater. At the 2007 Winter Universiade, he won all five short track speed skating events. Sung has won more than 20 World Cup races and earned two World Cup titles, in addition to skating on the winning World Championship 5000 m relay teams in 2007 and 2008. He qualified for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Sung was in medal contention leading into the final lap of the 1500 m event there, when a crash between him and a teammate led to his finishing in 5th place.
Mo Tae-bum is a South Korean speed skater. He is the 2010 Olympic Champion and the 2012 and 2013 World Champion in 500 m. He started speedskating while in the third grade. Prior to the 2010 Winter Olympics, Mo won two distances at the 2006 World Junior Speed Skating Championships. He has competed on the national level since 2004 and has competed internationally since 2005.
Jordan Stolz is an American professional speed skater. At the 2023 World Speed Skating Championships, Stolz won the 500m to become the youngest single distance world champion in history. He also became the first male skater to win three individual gold medals at a single World Speed Skating Championship, a feat he repeated in 2024.
