On Fire Baby (foaled February 23rd, 2009) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse and the winner of the 2014 La Troienne Stakes. [1]

The La Troienne Stakes is a Grade I American Thoroughbred horse race for fillies and mares, age four and older, over a distance of ​1 116 miles held at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. It is on the same day as the Kentucky Oaks, on the day before the Kentucky Derby. The current purse is $300,000.

Career

On Fire Baby's first race was on August 19th, 2011, at Ellis Park, where she came in first. Within two months of her career, she captured the 2011 Pocahontas Stakes, her first graded win. She then followed it up with a win at the 2011 Golden Rod Stakes. [1]

The Pocahontas Stakes is a Grade II race held in September at Louisville, Kentucky's Churchill Downs fall meet. Open to two-year-old Thoroughbred fillies, it is set at a distance of ​1 116 miles on the dirt. The race was upgraded from a Grade III race to a Grade II race in 2010 by the American Graded Stakes Committee.

The Golden Rod Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race held annually in late November at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. A Grade II event open to two-year-old fillies, it is currently contested on dirt over a distance of ​1 116 miles. The Golden Rod is named for the official flower of the state of Kentucky.

To start 2012, she captured the 2012 Honeybee Stakes in March. Her next victory would not come until over a year later when she won the April 2013 Apple Blossom Handicap.

The Honeybee Stakes is an American flat Thoroughbred horse race for three-year-old fillies held annually in March at Oaklawn Park Race Track in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It is currently run over a distance of one-and-one-sixteenth miles on dirt. The race is a Grade III event with a current purse of $200,000 and has been a prep race to the Triple Tiara of Thoroughbred Racing, including the Kentucky Oaks, the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes and Mother Goose Stakes.

The Apple Blossom Handicap is an American Thoroughbred horse race run each year in early April during the Racing Festival of the South at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The Grade I race is open to Fillies and Mares, four years old and up. A premier event for distaffers in the Spring, it is run over a distance of one and one-sixteenth miles on the dirt and currently offers a purse of $600,000, though these conditions are subject to change, as noted below.

On Fire Baby took her first shot at the 2013 La Troienne Stakes, coming in 2nd place. She did not much see on track access until a 2nd place finish at the 2014 Apple Blossom Handicap, followed by her final win of her career at the 2014 La Troienne Stakes. She competed in her last race on September 6th, 2014, coming in 6th at the Locust Grove Stakes. [1]
