The Burgos Symphony Orchestra (OSBu) is a Spanish orchestral group, based in the city of Burgos, which was founded in 2005 offering its first concert on November 1 of that year. Its usual concert hall is the Auditorium and Congress Palace of Burgos, since its inauguration in 2012, but until then its predecessor venue was the Teatro Principal de Burgos. It is made up of musicians from Burgos and other parts of Spain. Every year scholarship to several students of the Professional Conservatory of Burgos, who participate in the interpretation of works.

By receiving support from the Burgos City Council, the OSBU has a firm commitment to the city, thanks to which it has interpreted works by local authors and has received the collaboration of associations for its interpretations. To highlight works by Antonio José Martínez Palacios, of which among other works his opera "El mozo de mulas" was premiered, as well as works by Rafael Calleja, Ángel Juan Quesada, Alejandro Yagüe, Alberto Hortigüela, Pedro María de la Iglesia, Javier Pérez de Arévalo, Javier Centeno and Laura Puras.

Its first musical director was Javier Castro Villamor between 2005 and 2018. Since 2018 it has been directed by the pianist Iván Martín. It has also had a large number of guest directors.

Every year since its foundation, except for 2020 due to COVID, the OSBU performs five concerts, plus an additional concert performed for a family audience.

Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos was a Spanish conductor and composer. Frühbeck was born in Burgos, Spain to a family of German ancestry. He first took up conducting while on military service in the Spanish Army before graduating from the Hochschule für Musik in Munich. Frühbeck was principal conductor of various orchestras around the world, starting with the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra from 1958 to 1962, then moving on to the Spanish National Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra of Tokyo and many others. Throughout his career Frühbeck de Burgos recorded on a number of labels. He was a member of the Academy of Fine Arts and History Institución Fernán González. His honours include the 2011 Conductor of the Year award from Musical America.

The Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras (BYSO) is a youth orchestra based in Boston, Massachusetts under the artistic leadership of music director, Federico Cortese. Since 1958, BYSO has served thousands of young musicians from throughout New England with three full symphonic orchestras, two young string training orchestras, six chamber orchestras, a preparatory wind ensemble, a chamber music program and a nationally recognized instrument training program for underrepresented youth from inner-city communities called the Intensive Community Program (ICP). The 2017-2018 season marks the celebration of BYSO's 60th Anniversary. Each year, BYSO auditions approximately 850 students from throughout New England, ages 5–18, and accepts nearly 500 young musicians.
