Sveio is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. Sveio is a border district that is sometimes considered to be located in the traditional district of Haugalandet since it is located on the Haugalandet peninsula, but it is also considered to be in the traditional district of Sunnhordland since it is located in southern Hordaland county. The Lokkaren Bridge is a suspension bridge in Namsos Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The bridge crosses the Lokkarsundet strait that runs between the mainland of Namsos and the island of Otterøya. The bridge is located about 6 kilometres (4 mi) northwest of the town of Namsos. The 435-metre-long (1,427 ft) bridge was opened on 2 December 1977.

The Bømlafjord Tunnel is a subsea road tunnel under Bømlafjorden which connects the island of Føyno in Stord Municipality to the mainland at Dalshovda in Sveio Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The tunnel is 7.82 kilometers (4.86 mi) long and reaches 260.4 m (854 ft) below mean sea level. It carries three lanes of European Road E39 and is part of the Triangle Link, a fixed link which connects Sunnhordland to Haugaland. Plans for the tunnel arose in the 1980s; construction started in 1997 and the tunnel opened on 27 December 2000. The tunnel was built using the drilling and blasting method, with two teams building from each end. The tunnel runs through an area composed mostly of gneiss, phyllite and greenstone. The tunnel was the longest subsea tunnel in Norway until the opening of Karmøytunnelen. It is still (2013) the deepest point on the E-road network. The tunnel was a toll road from the opening until 30 April 2013. In 2012 the tunnel had an average 4,084 vehicles per day.

Otterøy is a former municipality in the old Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. The 272-square-kilometre (105 sq mi) municipality existed from 1913 until its dissolution in 1964. The area is now part of Namsos Municipality in Trøndelag county. The former municipality included most of the island of Otterøya, the island of Hoddøya, the southwestern part of the island of Elvalandet, and some of the mainland southwest of Otterøya and Hoddøya. The area contains good farmland and also good salmon fishing. The main church for the area is Otterøy Church.

The 55.3-square-kilometre (21.4 sq mi) island lies on the south side of the Foldafjord, between the mainland and the islands of Otterøya and Elvalandet. The island is partially forested, with the southern part being flat and marshy, and the northern part being more mountainous. The 297-metre (974 ft) tall Moldvikfjellet is the highest point on the island.

Otterøya is an island in Namsos Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The 143-square-kilometre (55 sq mi) island is the largest island in the northern part of Trøndelag county. Otterøya sits just to the northwest of the town of Namsos on the north side of the Namsenfjorden. It is connected to the mainland by the Lokkaren Bridge. The island was once governed by Otterøy Municipality and Fosnes Municipality, and became a part of Namsos Municipality in 1964. Otterøy Church is located on the island.

Statland is a village in the western part of Namsos Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village lies along the Namsenfjorden, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) north of the village of Tøttdalen. The village has a school and Statland Church. The island of Otterøya lies across the fjord from Statland.

Namsenfjorden is a fjord in Trøndelag county, Norway. The 35-kilometre (22 mi) long fjord flows along the border between Namsos Municipality and Flatanger Municipality. It runs southeast from the Folda firth, between the mainland in the south and the island of Otterøya in the north, past the island of Hoddøya, to the Namsen river estuary in the town of Namsos. The banks of the fjord are mostly wooded and not very high. Near the town of Namsos, the Løgnin fjord arm branches to the south all the way to the village of Sjøåsen in Namsos Municipality. Other villages along the fjord include Statland, Tøttdalen, Skomsvoll, Bangsund, and Spillum.

Hoddøya is an island in Namsos Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It lies in the Namsenfjorden, about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) west of the town of Namsos. The island is located between the island of Otterøya and the mainland of Namsos Municipality. The highest point on the 10.3-square-kilometre (4.0 sq mi) island is the 207-metre (679 ft) tall mountain Vattafjellet.

Skomsvoll is a village on the island of Otterøya in Namsos Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located on the south side of the island, along the Namsenfjorden. The village of Statland lies across the fjord from Skomsvoll, with the island of Hoddøya nearby. The main church for the island, Otterøy Church is located in Skomsvoll.

Valevåg is a village in Sveio municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The village is located on the northern end of the Sveio peninsula, along the southern shore of the Hardangerfjorden. Historically, Valevåg was the administrative centre of the old municipality of Valestrand until it was merged into Sveio in 1964. Valen Chapel is in the village of Valevåg, and just outside the village to the south is the much larger Valestrand Church.
