Nuthampstead is a small village and civil parish in North East Hertfordshire located a few miles south of the town of Royston. In the 2001 census the parish had 139 residents, increasing to 142 at the 2011 Census.

It was an academy, and had approximately 474 registered students, including 80 in the sixth form before closure. The school featured an all-weather pitch which was used by the school, the community and the local football team. The Pavilion provided indoor changing facilities and access to the tennis courts.
Royston Arts Festival is a festival of the arts organised by Creative Royston in Royston, Hertfordshire (UK). It was originally initiated and directed by the composer Richard Lambert and was revived in 2007. It takes place annually in the last week of September. In recent years it has featured the trumpeter Alison Balsom, the theatre Director Robin Belfield, the author/illustrator James Mayhew, the poet Wendy Cope, Megson and the Daleks. In its earlier incarnation it was associated with the Master of the Queen's Music, Malcolm Williamson, who premiered at least one work at the festival. Voluntary arts groups who regularly contribute to the festival include the Corvus Amateur Drama Society (CADS), Royston Town Band, Royston Arts Society and Royston Photographic Society.
Arctic Prince (1948–1969) was an Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and sire who was trained in England during a brief racing career which lasted from 1950 to 1951 and consisted of only five races. Arctic Prince won two races including the 1951 Derby and was retired after breaking down at Ascot in July of the same year.

The 2011 FIAT Netball Superleague season saw Hertfordshire Mavericks finish as champions for the second time. In the grand final they defeated Surrey Storm. For the first time, the season was completed in a single calendar year, starting on 22 January and concluding on 9 June with the grand final. Fiat Group Automobiles became the Netball Superleague's new sponsor.

This was on the same day as other local elections around the country. Heading into the election, the Conservative Party held a 4-seat majority. Although they still had 6 seats more than any other party after the result of the election, they lost their majority.
King James Academy Royston (KJAR) is a through school located in Royston, Hertfordshire, England. It is an academy, and opened in September 2019, as a result of the merger of the town's two middle schools, Roysia and Greneway, and its Meridian upper school. The school is spread over 2 sites, with the Meridian site now being the Senior site and the Greneway site being the Junior site.
