The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry is an international federation of National Adhering Organizations working for the advancement of the chemical sciences, especially by developing nomenclature and terminology. It is a member of the International Science Council (ISC). IUPAC is registered in Zürich, Switzerland, and the administrative office, known as the "IUPAC Secretariat", is in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, United States. This administrative office is headed by IUPAC's executive director, currently Lynn Soby.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">People's Justice Party (Malaysia)</span> Malaysia multiracial political party

The People's Justice Party is a reformist political party in Malaysia, formed in 2003 by a merger of the National Justice Party and the older Malaysian People's Party. The party was led by Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and increased its parliamentary representation from one seat to 31 seats in the 2008 general election, until the five-year political ban imposed on former Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was lifted on 14 April 2008. The party is the second largest party in the Pakatan Harapan coalition after Democratic Action Party(DAP) that formed the government after defeating Barisan Nasional, which had ruled the country for 60 years since independence in the 2018 election. It enjoys strong support from urban states such as Selangor, Penang and Johor. It also enjoys huge support from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.

The 2007 Ijok by-election was held on 28 April 2007. The seat of Ijok in the State Legislative Assembly of Selangor, Malaysia, fell vacant after the death of the incumbent, K. Sivalingam, on 4 April 2007 from a heart attack. Sivalingam was a member of the state executive council as well as the deputy chairman of the Selangor state Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC), a component party of the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. The by-election was won by the BN candidate K. Parthiban, with a 1,850-vote majority over the opposition candidate, Khalid Ibrahim.

Nurul Izzah binti Anwar, nicknamed Princess of Reformasi, is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Permatang Pauh since May 2018 and for Lembah Pantai from March 2008 to May 2018. A member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) opposition coalitions. She has also served as the Vice President of PKR from November 2010 to her resignation in December 2018 and again since July 2022. She also served as Chairperson of the Consideration of Bills Select Committee from December 2018 to July 2019. She is the daughter of Leader of the Opposition, President of PKR and Port Dickson MP Anwar Ibrahim and Chairwoman of the PKR Advisory Body and Pandan MP Wan Azizah Wan Ismail who are also both the former deputy prime ministers.

Datuk Zuraida binti Kamaruddin is a Malaysian politician who has served as outgoing Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob since August 2021. She had also served as the Minister of Housing and Local Government twice in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin from March 2020 to August 2021 and the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from May 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020. She has also served the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ampang since March 2008.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Pakatan Harapan</span> Malaysian political coalition

The Alliance of Hope is a Malaysian political coalition consisting of centre-left and centre-right parties which was formed in 2015 to succeed the Pakatan Rakyat coalition. It was the ruling coalition for 22 months at the federal level after it won the 2018 Malaysian general election to February 2020 when it lost power as a result of the 2020 Malaysian political crisis. The coalition deposed the Barisan Nasional coalition government during the 2018 election, ending its 60 year-long reign since independence.

Michael Teo Yu Keng is a Malaysian politician and gynaecologist who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Miri from May 2013 to November 2022. He is a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of presently the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) opposition coalitions. He also served as Vice President of PKR from June 2020 to July 2022. He is also a practicing gynaecologist at Teo's Clinic and Maternity Centre.

Datuk Christina Liew is a Hong Kong-born Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tawau since May 2018 and Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Api-Api since May 2013. She served as the Deputy Chief Minister and the State Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment of Sabah in the Heritage Party (WARISAN) state administration under former Chief Minister Shafie Apdal from May 2018 to the collapse of the WARISAN administration in September 2020. She is a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) opposition coalition which is aligned with WARISAN and formerly Barisan Alternatif (BA) and Pakatan Rakyat (PR) opposition coalitions. She has served as Vice President of PH since September 2017 and State Chairperson of PH of Sabah since August 2017. She has also served as Member of the Central Leadership Council (MPP) of PKR and Division Chairperson of Kota Kinabalu of PKR since July 2022. She also served as the State Chairperson of PKR of Sabah from October 2016 to her removal from the position in August 2022. She was also the Vice President of PKR. She was a member of the United Sabah Party (PBS) and Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA), component parties of the Gagasan Rakyat (GR) and Barisan Nasional (BN) coalitions.

He has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Penampang since May 2013, Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Moyog since September 2020 and founding as well as 1st Deputy President of the Heritage Party (WARISAN) which is aligned with the PH opposition coalition since October 2016.

Datuk Jonathan bin Yasin is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs II for the second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Minister Hamzah Zainuddin since August 2021. He served his first term in Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Minister Hamzah Zainudin from March 2020 to August 2021 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ranau since May 2018.
