Padmabhushan Vasantdada Patil Pratishthan's College of Engineering (PVPP COE) is an engineering college in Mumbai, India, established in 1990. [3]
The college is a tribute to the late Shri Vasantdada Patil, the Sahakar Maharshi and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra. It is registered under Societies’ Registration Act, 1860 and Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. Former deputy Prime Minister Yeshwantrao Chavan laid the foundation of the college. [4]
Established in 1990, the college is spread over a total area of 300,000 sq ft (28,000 m2). It is located in the centre of Mumbai, on the Eastern Express Highway at Sion. It is approved by the Government of Maharashtra, University of Mumbai, and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to conduct degree courses in electronics and telecommunications, computer engineering, and information technology engineering. Sharad Govindrao Pawar is an Indian politician. He has served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for four terms and has also served in the Union Council Of Ministers as the Minister of Defence in the Cabinet of P.V Narsimha Rao and Minister of Agriculture in the Cabinet of Manmohan Singh. Sion is a neighbourhood of Mumbai. In the 17th century the village formed the boundary between Mumbai and Salsette Island. The British named it marking the end of the city. The name remained even after Mumbai was joined to the Salsette and extended up to Mulund. One of the local historical places in Sion is a hilltop garden commonly known as Sion Fort or Sheevon Killa in the Marathi language.
