Parental Advisory is a message affixed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) to audio recordings in the United States.

The Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC) was an American committee formed in 1985 with the stated goal of increasing parental control over the access of children to music deemed to have violent, drug-related or sexual themes via labeling albums with Parental Advisory stickers. The committee was founded by four women known as the "Washington Wives" – a reference to their husbands' connections with government in the Washington, D.C. area. The women who founded the PMRC are Tipper Gore, wife of Senator and later Vice President Al Gore; Susan Baker, wife of Treasury Secretary James Baker; Pam Howar, wife of Washington realtor Raymond Howar; and Sally Nevius, wife of former Washington City Council Chairman John Nevius. The PMRC eventually grew to include 22 participants before shutting down in the mid-to-late 1990s.
Godsmack is the debut album by the band Godsmack. The album was initially paid for by the band and released as All Wound Up, before the band was signed to Universal Records and Republic Records. It was mastered at Sterling Sound in New York City. It differs from All Wound Up by splitting the song "Get Up, Get Out!" into two tracks, while the song "Goin' Down" was removed. "Goin' Down" later appeared on the band's second major album Awake, along with another song left off the self-titled album, "Bad Magick".
Enjoy Incubus is the major label debut EP by Incubus released on January 7, 1997 on Epic Records. It contained re-recordings of songs that featured on their previous, independent releases Let Me Tell Ya 'Bout Root Beer and Fungus Amongus, as well the previously unreleased song "Version" and an untitled hidden track at the end of '"Hilikus". It was the first appearance on a release by DJ Lyfe, who added turntable scratches to the Fungus Amongus songs, and also supplied saxophone samples. This release was also noted for its introduction of 'Chuck', the mysterious mustachioed man who has become an icon for Incubus's early work.
The Parental Advisory label is a warning label introduced by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 1985 and adopted by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in 2011. It is placed on audio recordings in recognition of profanity or inappropriate references, with the intention of alerting parents of material potentially unsuitable for children. The label was first affixed on physical 33 1/3 rpm records, compact discs and cassette tapes, and it has been included on digital listings offered by online music stores.
Parental alienation describes a process through which a child becomes estranged from a parent as the result of the psychological manipulation of another parent. The child's estrangement may manifest itself as fear, disrespect or hostility toward the distant parent, and may extend to additional relatives or parties. The child's estrangement is disproportionate to any acts or conduct attributable to the alienated parent. Parental alienation can occur in any family unit, but is believed to occur most often within the context of family separation, particularly when legal proceedings are involved, although the participation of professionals such as lawyers, judges and psychologists may also contribute to conflict.

In 2001, Marvel Comics withdrew from the Comics Code Authority and established its own rating system for its publications. This was precipitated by the CCA refusing approval of the seal due to the strong depiction of violence in X-Force #116, a comic written by Peter Milligan and drawn by Mike Allred. We Are Not Alone is the second studio album by American rock band Breaking Benjamin. It was released on June 29, 2004. Three singles were released from the album, "So Cold", "Sooner or Later", and the full-band version of "Rain", as opposed to the original version in which the only instrument used is an acoustic guitar, which came out near the end of June 2005. The album name is a reference to the novel of the same name. We Are Not Alone sold 48,000 copies on its first week and was certified platinum by the RIAA on June 13, 2005. It is the first Breaking Benjamin album to receive a Parental Advisory label.
"Darling Nikki" is a song produced, arranged, composed, and performed by American musician Prince, originally released on his sixth studio album Purple Rain (1984). Though the song was not released as a single, it gained wide notoriety for its sexual lyrics—in particular an explicit reference to female masturbation—and was responsible for the creation of the infamous Parental Advisory sticker. The song tells the story of a "sex fiend" named Nikki who seduces the singer.
P.A. was a Southern hip hop trio, part of the Atlanta-based Dungeon Family. The group composed of rappers/producers James "Mello" Hollins, Kawan "K.P." Prather and Maurice "Big Reese" Sinclair. In 1993, they released their debut studio album, Ghetto Street Funk. In 1998, they released their second full-length titled Straight No Chase via DreamWorks Records. The single "Like We Do" became a southern anthem while the group's second single, "Reservations" secured a spot on the Blade (soundtrack) earning the group a Gold Record for the soundtrack. My Life, Your Entertainment was the group's third album overall and their second record distributed by DreamWorks as well. The single "Sundown" featuring 8Ball filled the southeastern airwaves while BET played the video in heavy rotation.
Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics is the 13th album by American comedian George Carlin. The album is from his seventh HBO special Doin' It Again, with some segments omitted, and others rearranged. The opening to the HBO special features flashbacks to all previous HBO specials. The special opens with a scene in which Carlin is talking about his past specials to an unseen narrator, in the style of a patient speaking to a psychologist or counselor.

Pleasure & Pain is the fifth studio album from American R&B group 112 named after the song "Pleasure & Pain" on 112's 1996 eponymous debut album, 112. This album did not fare as well as their first three albums, but the album did manage to spawn one hit single in 2005; the single "U Already Know" peaked at #32 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the second single "What If" reached #74. It was the first 112 album to get a Parental Advisory sticker. The single, "U Already Know", has two official remixes, the official Murder Remix featuring Ja Rule & Harry O and the official Roc-A-Fella Remix featuring Foxy Brown.
Ultraelectromagneticpop! is the debut studio album of the Filipino alternative rock band Eraserheads, released by BMG Records (Pilipinas), Inc. in 1993. Ultraelectromagneticpop! spawned hit songs such as "Ligaya", "Toyang", and "Pare Ko". Congress Shall Make No Law... is an album by Frank Zappa, released posthumously in 2010 by the Zappa Family Trust on Zappa Records. It contains a full recording of Zappa's September 19, 1985, testimony before the United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, during which he spoke in support of the recording industry and against censorship. In his testimony, Zappa criticized the Parents Music Resource Center, formed in 1985 with the stated goal of increasing parental control over the access of children to recordings deemed to have violent, drug-related or sexual themes by labeling them with Parental Advisory stickers. The album's release commemorates the 25th anniversary of the hearings.
