Paris O'Brien (also known as Yongli Ouban; born 15 April 2000) is a Canadian-Chinese professional ice hockey player for Wilfrid Laurier University of the Canadian University USports.
O'Brien was born on 15 April 2000 in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada. [1] He was attending South Delta Secondary School when he was recruited by Mike Keenan to join the Kunlun Red Star organization. [2] O'Brien moved to Russia and played nine games in the MHL, Russia’s Junior Hockey League, during the 2017–18 season. He was also selected by Team Latvia's head coach Bob Hartley to be an emergency goaltender for the team during an international tournament. [3] The next season, O’Brien returned to the MHL for 45 games and was also recalled to Kunlun’s minor pro team, KRS-BSU, in the Supreme Hockey League three times. [2]
O'Brien made his international debut for the China men's national ice hockey team at the 2022 Winter Olympics where they placed 12th. [4]
The Junior Hockey League (JHL) (Russian: Молодежная Хоккейная Лига (МХЛ), romanized: Molodezhnaya Hokkeinaya Liga), sometimes translated as the Minor or Youth Hockey League, is a major junior ice hockey league in Eurasia, founded in 2009. It currently consists of 33 teams from 3 countries. Currently, all teams but one are subsidiaries (feeder teams) for their respective KHL or VHL professional counterparts. A player's age cannot be older than 20. The Kharlamov Cup, named after star ice hockey player Valeri Kharlamov, is awarded annually as the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia's official Junior Championship, following a 16-team playoff at the end of the regular season.
Jeremy Smith, also known as Jieruimi Shimisi, is a Chinese-American professional ice hockey goaltender. Born in the United States, he is currently playing with HC Kunlun Red Star of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) and represented China at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Smith was selected in the second round, 54th overall, by the Nashville Predators in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Liu Zhixin is a Chinese ice hockey player and member of the Chinese national team, currently playing in the Chinese Women's Ice Hockey League (WCIHL) with Shenzhen KRS. A two-time Olympian, she was the youngest member of the Chinese delegation at the 2010 Winter Olympics, where she represented the country in the women's ice hockey tournament, and also represented China in the women's ice hockey tournament at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
