Melville is a small city in the east-central portion of Saskatchewan, Canada. The city is 145 kilometres (90 mi) northeast of the provincial capital of Regina and 45 kilometres (28 mi) southwest of Yorkton. Dane Lloyd is a Canadian politician who was elected to the House of Commons of Canada in a by-election on October 23, 2017, following the resignation of Rona Ambrose. Lloyd represents the constituency of Sturgeon River—Parkland as a member of the Conservative Party of Canada. Lloyd continues to serve as a Canadian Army reservist in the Governor General's Foot Guards located in Ottawa. As of 2017 he held a commission as an infantry officer with the rank of lieutenant.
On February 14, 2018, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz opened fire on students and staff at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in the Miami suburban town of Parkland, Florida, United States, killing 17 people and injuring 17 others. Cruz, a former student at the school, fled the scene on foot by blending in with other students and was arrested without incident approximately one hour and twenty minutes later in nearby Coral Springs. Police and prosecutors investigated "a pattern of disciplinary issues and unnerving behavior".

He is the older brother of activist Ryan Deitsch.
