Makran, also mentioned in some sources as Mecran and Mokrān, is the southern coastal region of Balochistan. It is a semi-desert coastal strip in the Balochistan province in Pakistan and in Iran, along the coast of the Gulf of Oman. It extends westwards, from the Sonmiani Bay to the northwest of Karachi in the east, to the fringes of the region of Bashkardia/Bāšgerd in the southern part of the Sistan and Baluchestan province of modern Iran. Makrān is thus bisected by the modern political boundary between Pakistan and Iran.

Gwadar is a port city on the southwestern coast of the Pakistani province of Balochistan. The city is located on the shores of the Arabian Sea, opposite Oman and has a population of over 90,000, according to the 2017 census. It was an overseas possession of Oman from 1783 to 1958. It is about 120 km (75 mi) southwest of Turbat. The sister port city of Chabahar in Iran's Sistan ve Baluchestan province is about 170 km (110 mi) to the west of Gwadar. On 2 April 2021, it was declared the winter capital of Balochistan.
Gedrosia is the Hellenized name of the part of coastal Balochistan that roughly corresponds to today's Makran. In books about Alexander the Great and his successors, the area referred to as Gedrosia runs from the Indus River to the north-eastern edge of the Strait of Hormuz. It is directly to the south of the countries of Bactria, Arachosia and Drangiana, to the east of the country of Carmania and due west of the Indus River which formed a natural boundary between it and Western India. The native name of Gedrosia might have been Gwadar or Gwatar as there are two towns by that name and three bays with similar names in central Makran.
Pasni, is a city and a fishing port in Gwadar District, Balochistan, Pakistan. It is located on the Makran coast on Arabian Sea about 450 km (280 mi) from Karachi. Administratively, Pasni is the headquarters of Pasni Tehsil, the sub-division of Gwadar District. Astola Island lies 40 km (25 mi) ESE of Pasni, in the Arabian Sea. The city of Pasni is itself administratively subdivided into two Union Councils.
Gwadar District is a district in the Balochistan province of Pakistan. The name Gwadar originates from Gwat and Dar ، which means the door of air. Gwadar was notified as a separate district on 1 July 1977. The city of Gwadar serves as the district headquarters.

The N-10 or National Highway 10 is a 653 km national highway in Pakistan which extends along Pakistan's Arabian Sea coast from Karachi in Sindh province to Gwadar in Balochistan province. It passes the towns of Ormara and Pasni.
Pasni Tehsil, is a subdivision (tehsil) of Gwadar District in the Balochistan province of Pakistan. It is administratively subdivided into four Union Councils, two of which form the tehsil capital Pasni.

Gokprosh is a ridgeline of hills, part of the Coast Range of Baluchistan, Pakistan. The area is noted for being the site of engagements between the British and Baloch rebels in the 1898 Baloch uprising.
The 1898 Baloch uprising was a revolt that occurred in Balochistan, modern-day Pakistan. It was instigated by Sardar Mehrab Khan Gichki and Mir Baloch Khan Nousherwani.
Tourism in Balochistan is a developing industry, and is overseen by the Tourism Directorate under the Government of Balochistan. Balochistan is known for its long coastal belt which extends from Karachi through Sonmiani, Ormara, Kalmat, Pasni, Gwadar, Jiwani and all the way up to Iran. It is also popular for its hill tops and rugged mountainous terrain.
The Western Naval Command is a naval military command of the Pakistan Navy held by the Commander, West, a senior flag officer of Rear Admiral. COMWEST was a type commander post and now has been fully integrated to an Admin Authority post reporting directly to VCNS at NHQ. Its units and establishments are mainly scattered across the province of Balochistan, and has an approximate area of 700 miles. Its headquarters is at PNS Akram in Gwadar.
Kulanch is a sub-tehsil of Pasni, Gwadar District, Balochistan in Pakistan People living there are known as Kulanchi. After Meds, they are known as primitive population of Gwadar. Kulanch is a large cultivable land beginning 50 km east from Gwadar city and ending near Pasni.
On 3 November 2023, a Pakistan Army convoy was attacked in Gwadar District, Balochistan, Pakistan, resulting in the death of 14 soldiers when two vehicles of the security forces were ambushed by militants while moving from Pasni to Ormara.
Wadhela is a Baloch tribe inhabiting the Makran division of Balochistan. They are one of the principal tribes in the Kulanch sub-tehsil of Pasni city in Gwadar. Wadhelas are originally said to be immigrants from the Wadh tehsil of Khuzdar district. They also inhabit the Kech district of Balochistan, where they were largely responsible for the '1898 Baloch uprising' of Gokprosh.
