Patham Adhyayam is a 2010 Malayalam film directed by P. K. Radhakrishnan having Bala in the lead role.

Plot

Achu (Bala), son of Kumaran Asaari (Murali) is a carpenter and a sculptor. He is assigned the task of sculpting the new devi idol for the temple in his village which is under renovation. The temple belongs to Poomuttam tharavadu, headed by the Karanavar (Madhu). Karanavar's daughter is a childhood friend of Achu and when she comes from US for this occasion, they fall in love.

Murali (Malayalam actor)

Muraleedharan Pillai, popularly known as Murali was an Indian film, stage and television actor and author. He mainly appeared in Malayalam films and a few Tamil films and also many other movies. He won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Appa Mestry, a communist freedom fighter and professional weaver in the 2002 film Neythukaran. He was known for his powerful portrayal of character roles, lead roles and negative roles.
