Patricia Marx is an American humorist and writer. She currently works as a staff writer for The New Yorker , and teaches at Columbia University, Princeton University and 92nd Street Y. [1]
Born in Abington, Pennsylvania, she earned her B.A. from Harvard University in 1975. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times , The New Yorker , [2] Vogue , and The Atlantic Monthly . Marx is a former writer for Saturday Night Live and Rugrats , and the first woman elected to the Harvard Lampoon . Cut and Shoot is a city in eastern Montgomery County, Texas, United States, about 6 mi (9.7 km) east of Conroe and 40 mi (64 km) north of Houston. Until 2006, Cut and Shoot was considered and called a town. Then, the town council elected for it to be considered and referred to as a city. The population was 1,087 at the 2020 census.

Can't We Talk About Something More Pleasant? is a 2014 graphic memoir of American cartoonist and author Roz Chast. The book is about Chast's parents in their final years. Her father, George, died at the age of 95 and her mother, Elizabeth, who worked as an assistant elementary school principal, died at the age of 97. The author derived the book's title from her parents' refusal to discuss their advancing years and infirmities. Chast's cartoons have appeared in The New Yorker magazine since 1978. The book was appreciated for showcasing Chast's talent as cartoonist and storyteller. It received several awards and was a number 1 New York Times Bestseller.
