Patrick Clark is an American host, reporter, and musician. He has been featured on the Home & Garden Network (HGTV) , G4 , ABC Family , All News Channel , and served as a correspondent for Cartoon Network .

Biography

Clark was born in Evansville, Indiana. Growing up, the family lived across the Midwest in Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri. He began piano at the age of six and later played alto saxophone in junior high school before playing in numerous garage bands during high school.

He attended high school in Geneseo, Illinois before moving during his junior year to Belleville, Illinois. After graduating from Althoff Catholic High School, Clark studied journalism at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). He began working full-time in radio while only a junior in college. Soon after he became a program director at WFUN-FM, a children's radio station. Upon graduation he landed a job as a freelance reporter at KDNL-TV ABC 30 where he worked for the next two years. After leaving KDNL Clark began working at KPLR-TV WB11. He was a feature/entertainment reporter and fill-in sports anchor for the next six years. While reporting at KPLR, Clark also wrote a weekly column for the St Louis Post-Dispatch and taught a television production course at his alma mater SIUE for three years.

Early life and career

In 2002 Patrick began hosting Pulse on G4 (U.S. TV channel) the video game network while still working in St. Louis. He would fly to Los Angeles, California on Thursdays and spend the night on the couch of a friend. The next morning Clark would tape Pulse and fly back to St. Louis to continue working at KPLR. In 2003 he moved to Los Angeles to continue as host and segment producer. In November 2004, along with other G4techTV programs, the show was cancelled.

In 2005, Clark began hosting Offbeat America for HGTV, where he could be seen traveling the country in search of places we've never been and things we never knew existed. The highly rated show aired Sunday evenings at 6 PM (ET/PT). Patrick interviewed the people behind these extraordinary American treasures, revealing their passions and inspirations.

In 2010, Clark moved back to St. Louis to again work for KPLR News 11. As of November 2013, Clark is a reporter at KTVI Fox2 in St. Louis. ^[1]

Personal life & Music

A music lover, Patrick spends his spare time composing new music. In 1994 he released a children's album Moo Moo Vacation . While working in television in St. Louis, Clark released two more albums None The Worse For The Better and American Maid . Both albums were well received by music critics in the Midwest.^{[ citation needed ]} Among the featured songs on the discs were the title track "American Maid" and the popular WB theme and Emmy Award-winner "The Night is Young", which was used in St. Louis, Dayton, Ohio, and Knoxville, Tennessee.^{[ citation needed ]} Both albums were released on the Tinker Records label. Another album, Spiraling Toward Madness, was released in 2011.

Hollywood career

In addition to being a television host and musician, Clark has appeared in nationwide commercials for Anheuser-Busch, Triad Healthcare, and played a reporter in the NBC miniseries A Will of Their Own .

Charitable work

While living in St. Louis Clark volunteered as a tutor at Mathews-Dickey Boys and Girls Club. He has also emceed many events for the organization. Currently he serves on the board of directors.
