Paul Vincent "Pitchin' Paul" Governali was a professional American football quarterback in the National Football League. An All-American at Columbia University, he was the 1942 recipient of the Maxwell Award for College Player of the Year and the first runner-up for the Heisman Trophy. At quarterback, he passed for 1,442 yards in nine games that season, threw 19 passes for touchdowns, and completed 52 percent of his passes, all new collegiate records. He was also among the leading punters in the nation. He still holds the Columbia record for touchdown passes in one game (five).

Paul Joseph Chryst is an American football head coach and former player. He is currently the head football coach for the Wisconsin Badgers. In his four years to date with Wisconsin, only four NCAA teams have more wins than Chryst. Chryst was the head coach at the University of Pittsburgh from 2012 to 2014. Prior to his head coaching career, Chryst had previously been the offensive coordinator at Wisconsin from 2005 through 2011. He also served in the same capacity at Oregon State University and was an assistant coach for the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League. Chryst played college football at Wisconsin, where he lettered as a quarterback and tight end from 1986 to 1988.

Maskill served as the head football coach at Huron University in Huron, South Dakota from 1997 to 2001. Troth played college football at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri from 1981 to 1984 under head coach Vic Wallace. Troth was subsequently an assistant coach under Wallace at University of St. Thomas in Minnesota and Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee.
