Dr Bruce Stephen Flegg is a former Australian politician. He was a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly from 2004 to 2015,representing the electorate of Moggill in south-western Brisbane for the Liberal Party and its successor the Liberal National Party. He was the leader of the state Liberal Party from 2006 to 2007 and served as Minister for Housing and Public Works in the Newman government from April to November 2012.
The 1961 Australian federal election was held in Australia on 9 December 1961. All 122 seats in the House of Representatives and 31 of the 60 seats in the Senate were up for election. The incumbent Liberal–Country coalition led by Prime Minister Robert Menzies defeated the opposition Labor Party under Arthur Calwell,despite losing the two-party-preferred popular vote. In his first election as Labor leader,Calwell significantly reduced the Coalition's margin,gaining 15 seats to leave the government with only a one-seat majority. This was the first and only time that a Federal Government won a sixth consecutive term in office.

Believing this made Hughes unwinnable—especially with Johnson priming for a rematch—Dobie transferred to the new seat of Cook,created mostly out of the more Liberal-friendly eastern portion of Hughes. This move proved prescient,as Johnson retook Hughes for Labor on a large swing while Dobie narrowly won Cook.

Keith Walter Wilson Ewert was an Australian politician. Born in Brighton and educated at Melbourne High School and the University of Melbourne,he was an accountant before entering politics. In 1952,Ewert was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Flinders,unexpectedly winning the by-election for that seat caused by the death of Rupert Ryan,becoming only the second Labor MP for Flinders. In 1954,he was defeated by Liberal Robert Lindsay.
Henry Arthur Hewson,OAM was an Australian politician. Born in Korumburra,Victoria,he was a dairy farmer at Warragul before serving in the military 1941–45. He was active in local politics as a member of Warragul Shire Council,and was elected to Gippsland Province in the Victorian Legislative Council for a six-year term at the 1964 state election.

He held the seat until his defeat by Liberal candidate Arthur Chresby in 1958. He returned to the House in 1961,defeating Chresby. He held the seat until his defeat in 1966 by Don Cameron. Coutts died in 1997 and was buried in Nudgee Cemetery.

He served briefly as state president of Australian Workers' Union (AWU) before his election to the House of Representatives at the 1946 federal election. He represented the Australian Labor Party (ALP) in the seat of Herbert until his defeat in 1958.
Robert Noel "Duke" Bonnett,OBE was an Australian politician. Born in Brisbane,he was educated at state schools before becoming a sales manager at Townsville. He served in the military 1941–45. In 1966,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal member for Herbert,defeating sitting Labor MP Ted Harding. He held the seat until his retirement in 1977. Bonnett died in 1994.
James William Hadley was an Australian politician. Born in Brisbane,he received a primary education before becoming a timber worker,after which he worked with the railways. He was also an organiser with the Australian Workers' Union. In 1943,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Lilley,defeating the sitting United Australia Party member,William Jolly. He held the seat until his defeat by the Liberal candidate in 1949. In 1956,he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Queensland as the member for Nundah,but he was defeated the following year,having defected to the Queensland Labor Party. Hadley died in 1971 and was buried in Nudgee Cemetery.
Peter Nicholson Duckett White,MC was an Australian Army officer and politician. Born in Brisbane,he was educated at the Royal Military College,Duntroon and the Australian National University in Canberra. He served in the Australian Army from 1954 to 1975,during which time he deployed to Malaya and Vietnam,was awarded the Military Cross,and rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel. In 1977,he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Queensland as the Liberal member for Southport. He held that position until 1980,when he was defeated by National Party candidate,Doug Jennings.
