Phil Weidman (born 1936 in Alturas, California) is an American poet who has written nine books of poetry. His first collection, Sixes, was published in 1968. A graduate of Chico High School, Weidman served a two-year hitch in the U.S. Army before working as a newspaper reporter. He got his B.A. and master's degree from California State University, Sacramento in 1968 and 1970, respectively.
In addition to his poetry, he was worked a school teacher in the Sacramento area. His poetry has been published in a wide variety of small, prestigious literary magazines, including the Chiron Review , |Hearse, Olé , and the Wormwood Review .
Raymond Clevie Carver Jr. was an American short story writer and poet. He contributed to the revitalization of the American short story during the 1980s.
Robert White Creeley was an American poet and author of more than sixty books. He is usually associated with the Black Mountain poets, though his verse aesthetic diverged from that school. He was close with Charles Olson, Robert Duncan, Allen Ginsberg, John Wieners and Ed Dorn. He served as the Samuel P. Capen Professor of Poetry and the Humanities at State University of New York at Buffalo. In 1991, he joined colleagues Susan Howe, Charles Bernstein, Raymond Federman, Robert Bertholf, and Dennis Tedlock in founding the Poetics Program at Buffalo. Creeley lived in Waldoboro, Buffalo, and Providence, where he taught at Brown University. He was a recipient of the Lannan Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award.
Karl Jay Shapiro was an American poet. He was appointed the fifth Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress in 1946.

He is most known for his highly acclaimed biography of rock guitarist, Jimi Hendrix, which he revised and expanded for a second edition which was published in 2009.
