Pinacolada Records is an independent record label based in Christchurch, New Zealand. Run by local record collector and DJ Tim Baird, the label started in September 2001. It is notable for releasing the debut album from DFA Records artist the Shocking Pinks, as well the acclaimed debut albums by Pig Out and the Tiger Tones. The label went into hiatus after the Tiger Tones album release in April 2008 until May 2023.
The first release on the revived version of Pinacolada Records in 2023 was a collaboration with Christchurch based record label Leather Jacket Records. Originated by Matthias McGregor at Leather Jacket and financed by Baird, the resulting release was a compilation of early 1980s Christchurch post-punk group the Playthings on 12” vinyl, digital and minidisc which came out on May 6, 2023. The release reached #1 on the Official New Zealand Chart on May 13, 2023, and also reached #11 on the Official New Zealand Album Chart the same week, making it Leather Jacket’s most successful release to date.

Motörhead is the debut studio album by English rock band Motörhead. It was released on 12 August 1977 by pub rock and early punk rock label Chiswick Records, one of the first for the label, and the band's only release under Chiswick. The album contains the "classic" Motörhead line-up of Lemmy Kilmister on bass and vocals, "Fast" Eddie Clarke on lead guitar, and Philthy Animal Taylor on drums. The sleeve artwork featured the debut of Snaggletooth, the War-Pig, the fanged face logo created by artist Joe Petagno that would become an icon of the band.

Leather Jackets is the twentieth studio album by English musician Elton John. Recorded at Sol Studios in England and Wisseloord Studios in the Netherlands, it was released in 1986 and was his first album not to have any top 40 singles in either the US or the UK since 1970's Tumbleweed Connection, which had no singles released from it. It is also one of his lowest charting studio albums in the United States, peaking at number 91 on the Billboard 200 chart.

It was released by Avex Trax on November 10, 1999 as the sixth single from her second studio album Loveppears (1999), which was released on the same day. Alongside this, it has been released in several other territories with different release dates under her Western alias Ayu. It also served as Hamasaki's first limited edition single, limiting physical sales to 300,000 copies. The track was written by Hamasaki herself, while production was handled by long-time collaborator Max Matsuura. Musically, "Appears" is a dance song written in third person perspective, and is about the third person watching what appears to be a happy and loving relationship. Upon its release, "Appears" received positive reviews from music critics. Alexey Eremenko, writing for AllMusic, selected the track as the best song from the album and her career. However, an editor from CD Journal criticized the amount of remixes on the CD single.
Planet P Project is a pseudonym used by American rock musician Tony Carey for his science-fiction themed, progressive rock/space rock music. The current line-up of the wider Ladi6 group is Ladi6, her partner Parks and Julien Dyne. Ladi6 has been called "New Zealand's answer to Erykah Badu".
