Telemark[ˈtêːləmɑrk](listen) is a traditional region, a former county, and a current electoral district in southern Norway. In 2020, Telemark merged with the former county of Vestfold to form the county of Vestfold og Telemark. Telemark borders the traditional regions and former counties of Vestfold, Buskerud, Hordaland, Rogaland and Aust-Agder.

The region encompasses 1,794 km2 and has 122,978 inhabitants (2004), which translates as 12% of the area and 64% of the population of Telemark.

Frierfjorden is a fjord in the Grenland traditional district in the county of Telemark, Norway. It is an arm of the Langesundsfjord and well into the 1700s was also known as the Langesundsfjord. Frierfjorden stretches from the opening to Langesundsfjord in the south to the mouth of the Porsgrunn River in the north. The much smaller fjord of Gunneklevfjord opens into the Porsgrunn/Skien River and is separated from Frierfjorden by the peninsula of Herøya.
Porsgrunn Bridge is a drawbridge constructed of concrete. It is locationed in Porsgrunn town and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. The bridge, which was completed in 1958, connects the eastern and western sides of Porsgrunn town center. It crosses the Porsgrunn River a little above the point where the Skien watershed discharges into the Frierfjord. The boat traffic has an 8-meter bridge clearance.

The Tinnoset Line was a 30-kilometer (19 mi) long Norwegian railway line that went from Tinnoset to Notodden in Vestfold og Telemark county. The railway was part of the transport chain used to transport fertilizer from Norsk Hydro's factory in Rjukan to the port in Skien. The railway opened in 1909 and was closed when the plant closed in 1991. The railway is sometimes mistakenly believed to be part of the Rjukan Line.
Gimsøy Abbey was a Benedictine monastery located on the eastern end of the island of Klosterøya at Skien in Telemark, Norway. The island was commonly referred to as Gimsøy or Gjemsø.

The school is Telemark county's biggest school together with Skien videregående skole, and has a total of 1150 students and about 170 employees. It is one of 24 schools in Norway to offer an IB Diploma Programme.
Østre Porsgrunn Church is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Porsgrunn Municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. It is located in the town of Porsgrunn. It is one of the two churches for the Porsgrunn parish which is part of the Skien prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, concrete church was built in a modern, rectangular design in 2019 using plans drawn up by the architect Espen Surnevik. The church seats about 500 people.
Nystrand Station is a disused railway station located at Eidanger in Porsgrunn, Norway, on the Brevik Line. Designed by Paul Due, it was located 195.35 kilometers (121.38 mi) from Oslo. The station opened on 15 July 1895, three months before the rest of the line. Nystrand was largely used for recreational visits to Eidangerfjorden from townspeople in Porsgrunn and Skien. The station was served by a commuter train service until 1964, and has not seen regular calls by trains since 1968. It was formally closed on 31 May 1970. The station building has been preserved at Porsgrunn Town Museum.

The county is the southernmost one of Eastern Norway and consists of two distinct and separate traditional regions: the former counties of Telemark and Vestfold. The capital is located at the town of Skien, which is also the county's largest city. While Skien is the seat of the county municipality, the seat of the County Governor is Tønsberg. It borders the counties of Viken, Vestland, Rogaland and Agder.
The Grenland Line is a proposed high-speed railway line that would connect Grenland and Gjerstad in Norway. Specifically, the line would connect the Sørlandet Line at Skorstøl to the Vestfold Line at either Porsgrunn or Skien, allowing passenger trains from Stavanger and Kristiansand to be routed on the Vestfold Line through Grenland and Vestfold. The Grenland Line is proposed built with double track and with a speed of 250 km/h (160 mph). Three routes have been proposed, varying in length between 64 and 70 kilometers. A prerequisite is that the Vestfold Line be upgraded to double track and high-speed, a process that started in the mid-1990s and which is scheduled for completion in 2032. A completion of the upgraded Vestfold Line and the Grenland Line would reduce travel time for passenger trains between Gjerstad and Oslo by about 70 minutes.
