Pradeep Kumar is an Indian television producer, known for his work in the industry. [1] . He started his career as a production manager with the TV serial Kagaar and made his debut as a producer with the StarPlus show Meri Durga in 2017.
Kumar hails from West Champaran, Bihar, where he spent his formative years. His father, Prem Kishore Prasad, and his mother, Phulbadan Devi, provided a nurturing environment for his upbringing. His grandfather, Gaya Prasad, was a highly respected figure in the village, serving as the Panchayat Pradhan for 35 years.
Kumar began his education at the local primary school in Jhakhra village and continued his studies through higher education in Bettiah.
He came to Mumbai to pursue his education and embark on a career in the Navy. However, fate had other plans for him, leading him through humble beginnings where he took on various jobs to make ends meet.
His life took a significant turn when he secured a role as a production manager of Kagaar. By 2001, he made his entry into Bollywood production with Mehul Kumar Productions, working on the film ‘ Kitne Door Kitne Paas , featuring the talented duo of Fardeen Khan’ and Amrita Arora.
In 2004, Pradeep Kumar began his career as an independent production head at Shakuntalam Telefilms. During his tenure, he oversaw the creation of several notable shows including Reth , Banoo Main Teri Dulhan , Na Aana Is Des Laado , Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke , Shastri Sisters .
After leaving Shakuntalam telefilms in 2014, he co-founded Paperback Films with Ravindra Gautam. Under Paperback Films, he produced Meri Durga [2] for StarPlus, with pre-production starting in October 2015 and the pilot episode filmed in 2016. The show premiered on 26 January 2017.
In 2018, Pradeep Kumar established Shaika Films with his actress wife, Shaika Parween. Their first project, "Bamfaad," was a collaboration with Ajay Rai of Jar Pictures. The same year, they joined forces with Rajesh Ram Singh's Cockcrow Pictures to form Cockcrow & Shaika Entertainment.
Together, they produced a wide range of popular shows including Choti Sarrdaarni , Jaat Naa Puchho Prem Ki and others. They also ventured into Marathi web series with Kaale Dhande for ZEE5. Their work expanded with star plus show titled Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein which aired on StarPlus in 2020.
In November 2021, they produced Kaamnaa for SET India. In December 2021, they collaborated on Kabhi Kabhie Ittefaq Sey for StarPlus in partnership with Magic Moments Motion Pictures, Muskurane ki wajah tum Ho , Harphool Mohini for Colors TV , Aangan Apno Apno ka for Sony Sab and recently completed 300 episodes of Tose Naina Milaake for Dangal TV .
