Buford Hayse Pusser was the Sheriff of McNairy County, Tennessee, from 1964 to 1970 and Constable of Adamsville from 1970 to 1972. Pusser is known for his virtual one-man war on moonshining, prostitution, gambling, and other vices along the Mississippi–Tennessee state line. His efforts have inspired several books, songs, movies, and a TV series. He was also a wrestler known as "Buford the Bull" in the Mid-South.
Walking Tall is a 1973 American semi-biographical action film of Sheriff Buford Pusser, a professional wrestler-turned-lawman in McNairy County, Tennessee, played by Joe Don Baker. The film was directed by Phil Karlson. Based on Pusser's life, it has become a cult film with two direct sequels of its own, a TV movie, a brief TV series and a remake that had its own two sequels. It is also the penultimate movie of actress Elizabeth Hartman.

Pseudouridine is an isomer of the nucleoside uridine in which the uracil is attached via a carbon-carbon instead of a nitrogen-carbon glycosidic bond. Pseudouridine is the most abundant RNA modification in cellular RNA. After transcription and following synthesis, RNA can be modified with over 100 chemically distinct modifications. These can potentially regulate RNA expression post-transcriptionally, in addition to the four standard nucleotides and play a variety of roles in the cell including translation, localization and stabilization of RNA. Pseudouridine, being one of them, is the C5-glycoside isomer of uridine that contains a C-C bond between C1 of the ribose sugar and C5 of uracil, rather than usual C1-N1 bond found in uridine. The C-C bond gives it more rotational freedom and conformational flexibility. In addition, pseudouridine has an extra hydrogen bond donor at the N1 position. Also known as 5-ribosyluracil, pseudouridine is a ubiquitous yet enigmatic constituent of structural RNAs. Recently it has also been discovered in coding RNA. Being the most abundant, it is found in all 3 phylogenetic domains of life and was the first to be discovered. This nucleotide is considered to be the “fifth nucleotide”. It accounts for 4% of the nucleotides in the yeast tRNA. This base modification is able to stabilize RNA and improve base-stacking by forming additional hydrogen bonds with water through its extra imino group. There are 11 pseudouridines in the Escherichia coli rRNA, 30 in yeast cytoplasmic rRNA and a single modification in mitochondrial 21S rRNA and about 100 pseudouridines in human rRNA indicating that the extent of pseudouridylation increases with the complexity of an organism. Pseudouridine in rRNA and tRNA has been shown to fine-tune and stabilize the regional structure and help maintain their functions in mRNA decoding, ribosome assembly, processing and translation. Pseudouridine in snRNA has been shown to enhance spliceosomal RNA-pre-mRNA interaction to facilitate splicing regulation.

The State Line Mob was involved in bootlegging, gambling, prostitution, tourist fleecing, robbery, and murder. A few of the members were from Phenix City, Alabama, having been displaced from that town when martial law was declared by the Governor and the Alabama National Guard attempted to clean the town up.

The on-screen title of the film is Part 2 Walking Tall: The Legend of Buford Pusser. The film would be followed in 1977 by Walking Tall: Final Chapter, also starring Svenson.

Lok Adalat is a formal Indian judicial alternative dispute resolution forum that serves to settle cases pending findings of a panchayat or at the pre-litigation stage in a court of law. Lok Adalat is a traditional Indian method to relieve the overburdened court system by providing relatively quick arbitration. The decisions have statutory status under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987. Under this Act, the verdict made by the Lok Adalat is deemed to be of the same legally-binding force as findings from the civil court: final for all the parties and not subject to appeal. If the parties do not recognize the findings of the Lok Adalat, they may initiate litigation by approaching the court that possesses the appropriate jurisdiction.
