Qatar-Sweden Relations are the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Sweden and the State of Qatar. The relations are based on trade between the countries. [1]
Sweden has an embassy in West Bay in Doha, Qatar and the ambassador of Sweden to Qatar is Gautam Bhattacharyya. The embassy opened on May 14, 2014. [2] [3]
Qatar has an embassy in Stockholm, Sweden and the ambassador of Qatar to Sweden is Nadya bint Ahmad Al Sheebi. [4]
It was pointed out by the State Secretary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Sweden in June 2022 that the volume of trade between the two countries is constantly developing, as Swedish exports to Qatar rose from QR556 million in 2020 to about QR1.112 billion in 2021. The Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also lauded the flourishing relations between Qatar and Sweden on May 29, 2024, underscoring the substantial increase of 79% in trade volume from QR866 million in 2022 to QR1.55 billion in 2023.
The main products exported from Qatar to Sweden are refined petroleum, ethylene polymers, and video recording equipment. Meanwhile, the main products exported from Sweden to Qatar are iron ore, iron pipes, and gas turbines. Qatar has the 31st highest trade volume with Sweden among all countries globally.
The economic relations between the countries are based on cooperation between Swedish and Qatari companies, mainly in the oil and the natural gas sector as well as the wood and iron industries. [ citation needed ]
Foreign relations of Qatar is conducted through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Arab states were among the first to recognize Qatar, and the country gained admittance to the United Nations and the Arab League after achieving independence in 1971. The country was an early member of OPEC and a founding member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Diplomatic missions to Qatar are based in its capital, Doha.
Malaysia–Sweden relations refers to foreign relations between Malaysia and Sweden. Sweden has an embassy in Kuala Lumpur, and Malaysia has an embassy in Stockholm. As of 2009, 90 Swedish companies are present in Malaysia and about 450 Swedish citizens live in Malaysia. The number of Swedish citizens visiting Malaysia in 2011 was 44,138.

Iraq has severed all ties with Sweden since July 2023, after Swedish authorities allowed a man to burn the Iraqi flag and the Quran in front of the Iraqi Embassy, Stockholm.

China – Qatar relations are the bilateral relations between the People's Republic of China and the State of Qatar. China has an embassy in Doha, while Qatar has an embassy in Beijing. With diplomatic relations first formed in 1988, Qatar is a strategic ally of China, and the two countries maintain a strong relationship.
The State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Spain formed diplomatic relations in December 1972. Qatar maintains an embassy in Madrid, while Spain has an embassy in Doha.
Spain–Sweden relations are the bilateral and diplomatic relations between these two countries.
