Qeqertarsuaq (meaning "Large Island") is an island in Avannaata municipality, located in the Karrat Fjord in northwestern Greenland. Nearby islands are Illorsuit Island and Upernivik Island.

The island has a settlement called Nuugaatsiaq.

The island has a 1,765-metre-high (5,791 ft) mountain called Snehætten (meaning Snow hat in Danish), an Ultra prominent peak.

The expedition leader, German scientist Alfred Wegener, died during a trip back from Eismitte, in early November 1930. The station was abandoned on 1 August 1931.

Qeqertarsuaq is a port and town in Qeqertalik municipality, located on the south coast of Disko Island on the west coast of Greenland. Founded in 1773, the town is now home to a campus of the University of Copenhagen known as Arctic Station. Qeqertarsuaq is the Kalaallisut name for Disko Island and is also now used for several other islands on Greenland, including those formerly known as Upernavik and Herbert Island. University of Copenhagen Arctic Station is a year-round, environmental research facility in central West Greenland. Located about 300 metres (980 ft) northeast of Qeqertarsuaq, it faces Disko Bay and the Davis Strait on the south coast of Disko Island with the Blæsedalen valley to the north. The main building and the laboratory are within a nature sanctuary. It was founded in 1906 by the botanist Morten Pedersen Porsild, and has since 1953 been owned by the University of Copenhagen Faculty of Science.

Blæsedalen is a large glacial valley on Disko Island, Western Greenland. The north-south U-formed valley features include icing ridges and a braided river system; Røde Elv has red sediment, which colours its water. The valley is situated north of Qeqertarsuaq and stretches northward approximately 30 kilometres (19 mi) to Kangerluk. The valley is fed by outlet-glaciers from Lyngemarkens Iskappe. Between Blæsedalen and Grønlænderhuse, there is evidence of Paleoinuit and Thule Culture habitation.
