Rajarajeshwari Nagar, officially Rajarajeshwari Nagara is a residential neighborhood in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. It is located in the southwestern part of Bangalore along the Mysore Road, with Nagarbhavi and the Bangalore University to the north and north-west, Hosakerehalli to the east and Kengeri to the south-west. There is a prominent arch-shaped structure on Mysore Road which serves as the most popular entrance to this locality.
The area was named after Jnanakshi Rajarajeshwari Temple, which is located in the Rajarajeshwari Nagar. The locality has plenty of greenery and has contributed to many rallies and protests regarding the nature. Ideal Homes, BEML Layout, BHEL Layout, Krishna Garden, Halagevaderahalli, Kenchenahalli, Pattanagere, Gattigere, Channasandra and Ganakal are some of the sublocalities within Rajarajeshwari Nagar.
The Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath is set to open a 14-acre campus in Rajarajeshwari Nagar by 2020. [2]
The neighbourhood is known for its vigilance against garbage dumping. Residents of the locality have formed a volunteer group called "Swachh RR Nagar" to clear garbage from public places in the area. [3] In 2019, BBMP installed CCTV cameras in the locality to monitor and curb garbage dumping. [4]
Residents of RR Nagar also ensure that the ban on plastic is enforced in the neighbourhood by donating paper covers and cloth bags to vendors. [5] [6] The locality reportedly became "plastic-free" in mid 2019. [7]
The Global Village Tech Park, spread over 120 acres, is located in Rajarajeshwari Nagar. A number of companies' offices are present in the Park. The headquarters of IT services firm Mindtree is also located there.
Basaveshwaranagara, also known as Basaveshwaranagar, Basaveshnagara or Basaveshnagar is a largely residential neighbourhood in the west of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Padmanabhanagar has a very famous park called Lakshmikanta Park. This park houses Lakshmi Kantha temple. It was looked after by residents association, in 2018 the corporator allotted funds and developed it further. The park was eyed for its medicinal trees and was sanctioned to be cut down completely and set up a landscaped area but the senior citizens of the locality who nurtured the park protested and stopped it. It is surrounded by Kumaraswamy Layout, Gowdanapalya, Chennamanakere, Kathriguppe, Kadirenahalli, Uttarahalli and Chikkakalasandra.

The Thurahalli Forest or Thurahalli Park is a dry and deciduous forest. It is located about 20 km from Bengaluru off Kanakapura Road. It is 13 km from Banashankari and can be overseen from the NICE road. Entry inside the park has been banned for vehicles, however, it has become a hot spot for cyclists.

Gauri Lankesh was an Indian activist and journalist from Bangalore, Karnataka. She worked as an editor in Lankesh Patrike, a Kannada weekly started by her father P. Lankesh, and ran her own weekly called Gauri Lankesh Patrike. She was murdered outside her home in Rajarajeshwari Nagar on 5 September 2017. At the time of her death, Gauri was known for being a critic of right-wing Hindu extremism. She was honoured with Anna Politkovskaya Award for speaking against right-wing Hindu extremism, campaigning for women's rights and opposing caste based discrimination.

Akshay Nagar is a neighbourhood in Begur ward in South Bangalore. It is surrounded by Hulimavu to the west and Begur to the east. The area has undergone rapid residential and commercial development since the early 2010s, including several high-rise apartment complexes. The locality is in close proximity to the Bannerghatta National Park, thus leading to occasional sightings of wild animals from the forest reserve. The area has a lake spread over 5 acres.
