RAT!hammock are an Australian indie rock band from Melbourne. [1]

History

The band was formed in 2017 and played their first gig at The Grace Darling Hotel while they were developing their sound. [2] [3] They have had several members rotate in and out since forming, [4] but their longest-standing and best-known line-up consisted of Jackson Phelan, Tom Dowling, Jack Nicolson, and Dom Buckham. Their first release with this lineup was 2020's "Word Of The Day". [5]

In 2018 they toured with Last Dinosaurs [6] and played St Jerome's Laneway Festival and Falls Festival in 2019. [7] [8] They have received airplay on radio stations Triple J, FBi Radio, and 3RRR, [9] [10] [11] and were #29 in the 50 most-played artists on Triple J Unearthed Radio for 2018, [12] and #24 in 2019. [13]

In 2021 they performed for Rolling Stone Australia's 'In My Room'. [1]

Danielle Whalebone is an Australian rock musician, songwriter and guitarist, best known for forming post-punk band Animal Hands and her subsequent solo career. Whalebone wrote the songs for Animal Hands and received acknowledgment for her songwriting and vocals in the press having been likened to that of PJ Harvey but with a more underground punk/wave vibe. Melbournes Beat Magazine described Whalebone as possessing a voice that can carry the band, overlaying her fuzzy guitar riffs, a sound very similar to that of Garbage and Magic Dirt. Whalebone states in an interview with What's my scene Magazine that she is inspired by "unconventional women, poets, writers, film makers and artists". Whalebone gained acclaim for having taken on the daunting task of keeping punk and grunge alive in Melbourne with her distinct early nineties sound. and in a review by The Dwarf magazine as having the "balls to bring back the grunge, a woman with all the strength and grace of Adelita Srsen". When asked to describe her music Whalebone replies "it's like Black truffles because they are found in the dirt but are syrupy sweet." in an interview with 'What's my scene magazine'.

The Bennies are an Australian ska punk band from Melbourne, Victoria. Self-described as "Psychedelic Reggae Ska Doom Metal Punk Rock From Hell," the band are known for their high-energy live shows and their mix of genres including dub, punk rock and heavy metal. To date, the band have released four studio albums and two EPs.

In mid-January 2020, "Dance Monkey" ended its 24th and final week at number one, beating Bing Crosby's all-time Australian record for his version of "White Christmas", which spent an equivalent of 22 weeks at the top in 1943. "Dance Monkey" was certified 19× platinum by ARIA for shipments of over 1,330,000 units by June 2023.

Sunlight is the debut studio album by Australian indie rock band Spacey Jane, released on 12 June 2020 via AWAL. Produced by Dave Parkin, it is the band's final release to include contributions from bassist Amelia Murray after her amicable departure in July 2019. Described by frontman Caleb Harper as an album "full of apologies", Sunlight lyrically acts as an intimate reflection on youth relationships and his mental health, a contrast to its affable melodies and jangling instrumentation.

Pist Idiots are an Australian pub rock band from Revesby, New South Wales. The band's line-up consists of lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Jack Griffith, drummer Jonathon Sullivan and brothers Joseph and Thomas (bass) Quine.

Rancid Eddie are an Australian indie rock band from Mount Waverley, Victoria. Their line-up consists of Jessy Kelly, Matt Sturrock, Eddie O'Brien (keys), Ash Ravlic, and Andy Sturrock (drums). Their music combines elements of indie rock, indie pop, alternative rock, rock, roots, punk, pub rock, surf rock and funk.
