The Red Mansion Foundation is a non-profit organisation based in London, England. Founded by Nicolette Kwok in 1999, its aim is to promote cultural understanding between East and West through the medium of contemporary Chinese art.
The Red Mansion Foundation aims to promote cultural understanding through a series of exhibitions, exchange programmes, publications and the Red Mansion Art Prize. In 2007 the Foundation moved into its current premises at 46 Portland Place in London which contains a 4,000 square feet (370 m2) gallery space dedicated solely to an exhibition programme of contemporary Chinese art curated by guest curators. Recent exhibitions have included a group show entitled "Temperament of Detail", curated by Carol Yinghua Lu and Liu Ding, and featuring Hu Liu, Wang Luyan, Wang Wei and Wu Xiaojun, a solo retrospective by Lu Chunsheng, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist of the Serpentine Gallery, and two more solo shows, by Yang Qian and Qiu Jie respectively.
In July 2008, The Red Mansion organised two shows in Beijing; the British Pavilion at the Beijing Biennale and an exhibition at the Today Art Museum entitled "Building Bridges: 8 Visions, One Dream". The latter is an ongoing project that involves the Red Mansion inviting established artists to travel to China, in order to be inspired and to create a two-way dialogue.
For the inaugural programme in 2005, the Foundation invited seven Royal Academicians: John Bellany, Brendan Neiland, Paul Huxley, Christopher Orr, David Mach, Allen Jones and Ian McKeever. The resulting exhibition, "Royal Academicians in China", was shown at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing, at the Shanghai Art Museum and at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Following the success of "Royal Academicians in China", The Red Mansion Foundation invited Catherine Kinley, former senior curator at Tate, to select a new group of eight artists to join the exchange programme 2006–2008: Tony Bevan, Rose Finn-Kelcey, Susan Hiller, Satch Hoyt, Lisa Milroy, Dennis Morris, Richard Wentworth and Paul Winstanley.
Sir Norman Rosenthal is a British independent curator and art historian. From 1970 to 1974 he was Exhibitions Officer at Brighton Museum and Art Gallery. In 1974 he became a curator at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, leaving in 1976. The following year, in 1977, he joined the Royal Academy in London as Exhibitions Secretary where he remained until his resignation in 2008. Rosenthal has been a trustee of numerous different national and international cultural organisations since the 1980s; he is currently on the board of English National Ballet. In 2007, he was awarded a knighthood in the Queen's Birthday Honours List. Rosenthal is well known for his support of contemporary art, and is particularly associated with the German artists Joseph Beuys, Georg Baselitz, Anselm Kiefer and Julian Schnabel, the Italian painter Francesco Clemente, and the generation of British artists that came to prominence in the early 1990s known as the YBAs.
Lu Chao was born in 1988 in Shenyang, China. The artist currently lives and works between London and Beijing.

Liu Bolin is a contemporary concealment artist born in China's Shandong province. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Shandong College of Arts in 1995 and his Master of Fine Arts from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 2001. His work has been exhibited in museums around the world. Also known as "the invisible man", Liu's most popular works are from his "Hiding in the City" series, photographic works that began as performance art in 2005 in response to the artists' village in which he worked in Beijing being demolished in preparation for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Liu Ye is a Beijing-based contemporary Chinese painter known for his bright-hued paintings of childlike female figures, his favorite cartoon character Miffy the bunny and works inspired by Piet Mondrian. Liu Ye is part of a generation of artists who grew up during the Cultural Revolution. However, unlike most acclaimed Chinese contemporary art, his works have little political implications. Instead, he prefers to use a universal language to depict his inner world. His work has been exhibited extensively in China, Europe and the United States.
Fabien Fryns is a Belgian art dealer and collector, residing in Beijing since 2004. He has worked in the art world since 1986, specializing in contemporary Chinese art since 2000.
Carol Yinghua Lu is a curator, art critic and writer who lives and works in Beijing.
Liu Ding is a Chinese artist and curator based in Beijing. Liu’s artistic practices range from installation, painting, photography, and theatre set design and production, whereas his professional skills vary from magazine editorial, television production, and curatorial work.
UCCA Center for Contemporary Art or UCCA is a leading Chinese independent institution of contemporary art. Founded in 2007 and located at the heart of the 798 Art District in Beijing, China, it welcomes more than one million visitors a year. Originally known as the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, UCCA underwent a major restructuring in 2017 and now operates as the UCCA Group, comprising two distinct entities: UCCA Foundation, a registered non-profit that organizes exhibitions and research, stages public programs, and undertakes community outreach; and UCCA Enterprises, a family of art-driven retail and educational ventures. In 2018, UCCA opened an additional museum, UCCA Dune, in Beidaihe, a seaside resort town close to Beijing. In 2021, a third site in Shanghai was opened, UCCA Edge. The museum had 385,295 visitors in 2020, and ranked 55th in the List of most-visited art museums in the world.

David Thorp is an independent curator and director. He curated GSK Contemporary at the Royal Academy of Arts and Wide Open Spaces at PS1 MoMA New York, among many others. He was Curator of Contemporary Projects at the Henry Moore Foundation and was also director of the South London Gallery, The Showroom and Chisenhale. He has been Associate Director for Artes Mundi, the biannual contemporary art exhibition and prize at the National Museum of Wales, and following the death of Michael Stanley in late September 2012 was appointed Interim Director at Modern Art Oxford. He was a member of the Turner Prize jury in 2004. Since the beginning of 2005 David Thorp has been an independent curator organising and initiating various projects in the UK and abroad. Thorp has held the positions of International Adjunct Curator at PS1 MoMA New York, Associate Curator at Platform China, Beijing, Curator of the Frank Cohen Collection, one of the most important collections of contemporary art in the UK.
Marguerite Horner is a British artist who won the 2018 British Women Artist Award. Her paintings aim to investigate, among other things, notions of transience, intimacy, loss and hope. She uses the external world as a trigger or metaphor for these experiences and through a period of gestation and distillation, makes a series of intuitive decisions that lead the work towards completion.

As an curator, he is most known for his curated events. He has been the curator of Guangdong Museum of Art and the Museum Art of Central Academy of Fine Arts for a long time.
Inside/Out: New Chinese Art was an exhibition held 15 September 1998 to 3 January 1999 held in association with Asia Society and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The exhibition was presented simultaneously at Asia Society in New York and P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center. It was curated by Gao Minglu and featured artists from mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong with artworks from the 1980s to 1990s.
