Renate Meyer (born 6 January 1938) is a former German sprinter. She competed in sprint events at both the 1964 and 1968 Summer Olympics. [1]
She also won a silver medal in the women's 4 × 100 m relay at the 1966 European Athletics Championships in Budapest.

However, she ran several world records as part of relay teams with Doris Maletzki, Renate Stecher and Christina Heinich over 4 x 100 meters, the last time on September 8, 1974, in Rome. At the GDR Championships she took first place in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 1974, 1977, 1978, 1981 to 1984. In 1976 she won third place with the team. Andrea Joan Caron Lynch is a British former track and field sprinter who competed mainly in the 100 metres. A two-time Olympian, the peak of her career was becoming a bronze medallist in the 100 m at the 1974 European Championships and a double silver medallist in the 100 m and 4 × 100 metres relay at the 1974 British Commonwealth Games. A former British record holder in the 100 m, she has a hand-timed best of 10.9 seconds in 1974 and an auto-timed best of 11.16 secs in 1975. Her 200 metres best is 23.15 secs in 1975.

She resigned from the German parliament ("Bundestag") ahead of the 1987 election, by which time she had spent almost fifteen years as a high-profile member of it. That same year saw the publication of, "Frauenpolitik als Beruf. Gespräche mit SPD Parlementarierrinnen", which the respected commentator Rolf Zundel, writing in 1987, described as "probably the most impressive book about women in politics for many years".
