Rob Goossens (b. Schriek, 1943) pseudonym Rob Goswin is a Belgian artist and poet.
He is a teacher at the Royal Technical Athenaeum in Westerlo. In 1968, he founded, together with painter Jef Van Grieken and writer-actor Gerd de Ley, the magazine Rimschi. He was also editor of the magazine Impuls and currently editor of Imago.

Vanitas is a genre of art which uses symbolism to show the transience of life, the futility of pleasure, and the certainty of death. The paintings involved still life imagery of transitory items. The genre began in the 16th century and continued into the 17th century. Vanitas art is a type of allegorical art representing a higher ideal.

Manushi: A Journal about Women and Society is an Indian magazine devoted to feminism as well as to gender studies and activism. The magazine was founded in 1978 by Madhu Kishwar and Ruth Vanita, two scholars based in New Delhi. It is currently published as a bi-monthly; a total of 157 issues have appeared by the end of the year 2006. Manushi is also a publishing house which prints not just works on the status of women in India but also novels and short stories with a less direct connection to gender issues.
Nicolaes van Verendael or Nicolaes van Veerendael was a Flemish painter active in Antwerp who is mainly known for his flower paintings and vanitas still lifes. He was a frequent collaborator of other Antwerp artists to whose compositions he added the still life elements. He also painted a number of singeries, i.e., scenes with monkeys dressed and acting as humans.

He was one of several artists from Brussels who assisted in the transmission to Antwerp of the traditions of the Brussels school founded by his grandfather, Rogier van der Weyden. He thus played an important role in the founding of the Antwerp school.
The Royal Academy of Science, Letters and Fine Arts of Belgium is the independent learned society of science and arts of the French Community of Belgium. Vanitas is the fictional protagonist and title character of the manga series The Case Study of Vanitas, which was written and illustrated by Jun Mochizuki. The character was named Vanitas of the Blue Moon, making him part of the Blue Moon clan with some vampire abilities. Vanitas possesses a grimoire called The Book of Vanitas, which can restore vampires who have become "curse-bearers" with uncontrolled bloodlust due to the corruption of their names. He enlists the vampire Noé Archiviste in his quest.
