Robert Pitcher (born 29 April 1964) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a left-arm slow bowler who played for Berkshire. He was born in Welwyn Garden City.
Pitcher, who represented Berkshire in the Minor Counties Championship between 1993 and 1995, made a single List A appearance for the team, during the 1995 NatWest Trophy, against Surrey. From the lower order, he scored 16 not out, though he was unable to save the team from a nine-wicket defeat.
Pittsfield is the largest city and the county seat of Berkshire County, Massachusetts, United States. It is the principal city of the Pittsfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area which encompasses all of Berkshire County. The population was 44,737 at the 2010 census. James Alvin Palmer is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played 19 years in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Baltimore Orioles. Palmer was the winningest MLB pitcher in the 1970s, totaling 186 wins. He also won at least 20 games in eight different seasons and won three Cy Young Awards and four Gold Gloves during the decade. His 268 career victories are currently an Orioles record. A six-time American League (AL) All-Star, he was also one of the rare pitchers who never allowed a grand slam in any major league contest.
Robin Evan Roberts was a Major League Baseball starting pitcher who pitched primarily for the Philadelphia Phillies (1948–1961). He spent the latter part of his career with the Baltimore Orioles (1962–1965), Houston Astros (1965–66), and Chicago Cubs (1966). He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1976.
William James "B. J." Surhoff is a former catcher, outfielder, first baseman, third baseman, and designated hitter in Major League Baseball. Over his 18-year major league career, he played every position except pitcher. After playing for the Orioles from 1996 to 2000, he rejoined the team in 2003 and played through the 2005 season. He started his career with the Milwaukee Brewers (1987–1995) and also played for the Atlanta Braves (2000–2002). Surhoff began his career as a catcher, and after playing third base in the mid-1990s, shifted to become primarily a left fielder.
The Auburn Doubledays are a Minor League Baseball team of the New York–Penn League (NYPL) and the Class A Short Season affiliate of the Washington Nationals. They are located in Auburn, New York, and play their home games at Leo Pinckney Field at Falcon Park, which opened in 1995 and seats 2,800 people. They previously played at the original Falcon Park, which was built in 1927 on the same site. The team is owned and operated by Auburn Community Baseball.
