You Am I Australian rock band

You Am I are an Australian alternative rock band, fronted by lead singer-songwriter-guitarist, Tim Rogers. They formed in December 1989 and are the first Australian band to have released three successive albums, which have each debuted at the number-one position on the ARIA Albums Chart: Hi Fi Way, Hourly, Daily and #4 Record. Nine of their tracks appeared on the related ARIA Singles Chart top 50 with "What I Don't Know 'bout You", their highest charting, at No. 28. You Am I have received ten ARIA Music Awards from thirty one nominations. The band have supported international artists, such as The Who, The Rolling Stones, Sonic Youth and Oasis.

Rebecca Barnard Australian singer

Rebecca Barnard is an Australian singer, songwriter, producer and musician. She was the lead singer of the band Rebecca's Empire from 1993 to 2000, and has forged a solo career since her debut album, Fortified, was released in 2006. Her second solo album, Everlasting, was released in 2010. After a lengthy break of just under seven years, Barnard released her third solo album in 2017, called Music for Listening and Relaxation. Barnard is a Melbourne based musician.

The album was produced, recorded and mixed by Clif Norrell at Q Studios in Sydney, except for "Beautiful Girl", "Watcha Doin' To Me" and "Kick a Hole in the Sky" which were recorded by Paul McKercher at Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne and mixed by Skip Saylor Studios in Los Angeles. It was the first studio album with Davey Lane. "Beautiful Girl", "Watcha Doin' To Me" and "Kick a Hole in the Sky" were all recorded around 6 months after the album was nominally finished, because the band had written them in the interim and simply wanted to include them in the final package.

Rogers actually created his own record label, Ruby Q, specifically to release this album, so he could remain free from any creative control issues.

What Rhymes with Cars and Girls is the first solo album by You Am I frontman Tim Rogers, and the only release featuring the backing band The Twin Set. 'You've Been So Good To Me So Far' and 'I Left My Heart All Over The Place' were released as a double-sided radio single. The album was recorded at Jen Anderson's home studio, and featured many varied musicians, including Sally Dastey of Tiddas. In 2015, the album was adapted for the stage, with playwright Aidan Fennessy working with Tim Rogers to create a new musical What Rhymes with Cars and Girls for the Melbourne Theatre Company.

Featuring songs written by both Rogers and Perkins, as well as tongue-in-cheek covers, the album is quite lo-fi in recording, reflecting the short amount of time it was recorded in. Xscape (group) band

Xscape is an American female R&B vocal quartet from Atlanta, Georgia. The group formed in 1992 as a five-piece Kandi Burruss, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, LaTocha Scott, Tamika Scott and Tamera Coggins-Wynn. The following year Coggins-Wynn left the group and Xscape became a quartet. They were discovered by Jermaine Dupri who signed the group to his So So Def label. The group released their debut album Hummin' Comin' at 'Cha in 1993, which spawned two of their biggest hits "Just Kickin' It" and "Understanding". The album was certified Platinum on February 1, 1994.

Dilettantes is the eighth studio album by the Australian rock band You Am I, released on 13 September 2008. It was recorded at Electric Avenue Studios in Sydney and Sing Sing South in Melbourne before being mixed at Studio 301 in Sydney. The first single, "Erasmus", was premiered on Triple J radio on Dools & Linda's show on 6 August, and was released on iTunes along with the album's title track as a downloadable single on 6 September. Video clips were released in November for "Beau Geste" and "Givin' Up And Gettin Fat" to be released as radio/iTunes singles.
