Arabuko Sokoke National Park

The Arabuko Sokoke Forest Reserve is located on the coast of Kenya, 110 km north of Mombasa and is protected as a national Forest Reserve. The Arabuko Sokoke National Park, situated at the north-western edge of the Arabuko Sokoke Forest Reserve, is only a few square kilometres in size and constitutes only a small portion of the latter.

The Rombo language, or Kirombo, is a Bantu language of Tanzania spoken by the Chaga people, in the Chaga area of the Kilimanjaro region. Rombo forms a dialect continuum with other Chaga languages.

Considered by some authorities to be a subspecies of Crocidura gracilipes, it is now recognised as a separate species, with a chromosome number of 2n = 52. This is one of three species of small mammal named by the British zoologist Oldfield Thomas in honour of anthropologist Hildegarde Beatrice Hinde.

Grey-faced sengi Species of elephant shrew

The grey-faced sengi is a species of elephant shrew that is endemic to the Udzungwa Mountains of south-central Tanzania. The discovery of the species was announced in January 2008; only 15 species of elephant shrew were known until then, and the last discovery was made more than 120 years ago. As the name implies, the species is characterised by a distinctive grey face and a black rump, as well as being larger than the other species of elephant shrews.

Lake Chala

Lake Chala, also known as Lake Challa, is a crater lake that straddles the border between Kenya and Tanzania. The lake formed approximately 250,000 years ago. The lake is east of Mount Kilimanjaro, 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) north of Taveta, Kenya, and 55 kilometres (34 mi) east of Rombo District. The lake is surrounded by a steep crater rim with a maximum height of 170 metres (560 ft).

The River Lumi is located in northern Tanzania and southern Kenya in Coast Province. It originates on the east side of Mawenzi, and flows so close to the River Rombo as almost to form a fork. The Lumi, however, maintains its southerly direction, and may thus be said to represent the upper course of the Ruvu, one of tho two main sources of the Pangani River. It flows around the Lake Chala and the Taveta town in the west and empties into the Lake Jipe. The fish species Barbus sp. 'Pangani' has only been found in the river's N'joro Springs, situated in the upper Pangani River drainage basin.

Rombo is a settlement in Kenya's Kajiado County. It is a Division in the Loitokitok Sub County and borders with Tanzania to the south and Illasit town to the west and Taveta to the south east. Rombo is an agricultural dependant region. Agriculture is difficult due to the semi-arid climate which does not favor farming but irrigation is practiced through small irrigation schemes such as Kisioki irrigation scheme, Njoro and others. There are some Non governmental organizations which work to help Masai community who are pastoralists.

Adolf Faustine Mkenda, is a Tanzanian Minister of Agriculture. An associate professor of Economics at the University of Dar es Salaam and a politician who presently serve as a Chama Cha Mapinduzi's Member of Parliament for Rombo constituency since November 2020.
