Roscoe's Tavern, or simply Roscoe's, is a gay bar in Chicago, in the U.S. state of Illinois.

Description

Roscoe's is a gay bar in Chicago. It has multiple bars, a dance floor, and an outdoor patio. [1] Logo TV has said the bar is "known as a haunt for younger gay guys and their straight girlfriends". [2] Roscoe's plays music videos and hosts drag performances, [3] as well as karaoke, dueling pianos, and RuPaul's Drag Race viewing parties. [4]

History

The bar opened in 1987. [5]

Mick Jagger visited the bar in 2018, where he saw performances by RuPaul's Drag Race contestants Aja and Milk. [6] [7] [8] [9] Kevin Aviance performed at the bar in 2023. [10]

Reception

Frommer's has rated the bar one out of three stars. [5] CBS Chicago included Roscoe's in a 2010 list of the top five gays bars in Boystown. [3] In 2015, the ride-sharing company Lyft recognized the bar as one of Chicago's most-visited restaurants and bars. [11] Grace Perry included Roscoe's in Eater Chicago 's 2018 list of the city's fourteen "essential" LGBTQ bars. [4]

The third season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars premiered on January 25, 2018. The season was announced in August 2017, with 9/10 of the cast revealed during a VH1 "Exclusive Queen Ruveal" special, airing on October 20, 2017. This season of All Stars featured ten "all-star" contestants, selected from the show's first season through to its then-current ninth season, competing again to be inducted into the "Drag Race Hall of Fame".

"Divas Lip Sync Live" is the second episode of the third season of the American reality competition television series RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, which aired on VH1 on February 1, 2018. The episode has contestants impersonate famous divas and lip sync to a medley of RuPaul songs. Born in West Philadelphia, Heath-Clark attended college for musical theatre in New York, where he began his career as a backup dancer for Peppermint. The season's eight remaining contestants impersonate stereotyped characters on a The Bachelor-style improvisation acting challenge. Constance Zimmer and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, both from Unreal, itself a parody of The Bachelor-type shows, serve as guest judges, alongside regular panelists RuPaul, Michelle Visage, and Ross Mathews. Like the rest of the season, the show has a themed fashion runway challenge, and the contestants get feedback on both challenges.
