Rosemary Foot (academic)

Rosemary June Foot, FBA (born 4 June 1948) [1] [2] is a British international relations scholar and political scientist. She is a Professor of International Relations and the John Swire Senior research Fellow in International Relations, St. Antony's College, Oxford. Her research interests are in the fields of security studies and human rights, with special reference to the Asia-Pacific. [3] She has been a Fellow of the British Academy since 1996. [4]

Her works include the books Order and Justice in International Relations (co-edited), and Rights Beyond Borders: The Global Community and the Struggle over Human Rights in China. [3]

He was best known to the public as a communicator of science but also as the target of a long-running animal rights campaign. According to The Observer, he was both "one of the most powerful scientists in the UK" and "a hate figure for the animal rights movement".

Dame Kay Elizabeth Davies is a British geneticist. She is Dr Lee's Professor of Anatomy at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of Hertford College, Oxford. She is director of the Medical Research Council (MRC) functional genetics unit, a governor of the Wellcome Trust, a director of the Oxford Centre for Gene Function, and a patron and Senior Member of Oxford University Scientific Society. Her research group has an international reputation for work on Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). In the 1980s, she developed a test which allowed for the screening of foetuses whose mothers have a high risk of carrying DMD.

Following her retirement from the Max Planck Institute in 2012, she took a professorship at the MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development, Western Sydney University.
