The Meråker Line is a 72-kilometer (45 mi) railway line which runs through the district and valley of Stjørdalen in Trøndelag county, Norway. The line branches off from the Nordland Line at Hell Station and runs eastwards to the Norway–Sweden border, with Storlien Station acting as the border station. From there, the line continues as the Central Line. Traditionally, the Meråker Line was regarded as the whole line from Trondheim Central Station to the border, a distance of 102 kilometers (63 mi). There are two daily passenger train services operated by SJ Norge and a limited number of freight trains hauling lumber and wood chippings.

The Trondhjem–Støren Line was Trøndelag's first railway. It opened on 5 August 1864, ten years after the Trunk Line between Oslo and Eidsvoll Municipality opened. The 49 kilometer long railway line was narrow gauged and went between the city of Trondheim and the village of Støren.

The village is located at the eastern end of the lake Aursunden, just about 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) west of the border with Sweden and about 30 kilometres (19 mi) northeast of the town of Røros.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Trøndelag Commuter Rail</span> Commuter train service in Norway

The Trøndelag Commuter Rail is a commuter train service operating in Trøndelag county, Norway. It was operated with Class 92 diesel multiple units by Vy, until 7 June 2020, when SJ Norge took over the contract until 2030. The service provides a commuter service connecting Trondheim Municipality to its suburbs, between towns in Innherred and as an airport rail link for Trondheim Airport, Værnes. Although passenger services have operated along the lines since 1864, the commuter train was created with an increase of service with existing rolling stock in 1993. In 2019, the system was used by 1.4 million passengers.

Trondheim Airport Station, also known as Værnes Station, is a railway station located within the terminal complex of Trondheim Airport, Værnes in Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. Situated on the Nordland Line, it serves both express trains and the Trøndelag Commuter Rail both operated by SJ Norge. The station was opened on 15 November 1994 along with a new terminal at the airport, making it the first airport rail link in the Nordic Countries. The station cost 24 million kr, and was built along the existing railway line. In each direction, the station handles one to two hourly commuter rail services, and three daily express services. Travel time to Trondheim is 38 minutes, while it is 9 hours and 5 minutes to Bodø. Access to the airport terminal is outdoors, but sheltered.

Røros Station is a railway station located in the town of Røros in Røros Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located along the Rørosbanen railway line. It is located about 399 kilometres (248 mi) from Oslo Central Station and it sits about 628 metres (2,060 ft) above mean sea level. Service to the station is provided though regional trains operated by SJ Norge to Trondheim Station and Hamar Station. The station was opened in 1877, the same time that the Røros Line opened. The station restaurant was taken over by Norsk Spisevognselskap on 1 December 1944.

Sør-Trøndelag was a county comprising the southern portion of the present-day Trøndelag county in Norway. It bordered the old Nord-Trøndelag county as well as the counties of Møre og Romsdal, Oppland, and Hedmark. To the west is the Norwegian Sea, and to the east is Jämtland in Sweden. The county was separated into a northern and southern part by the Trondheimsfjorden. Slightly over 200,000 of the county's population lives in the city of Trondheim and its suburbs. The Norwegian dialect of the region is Trøndersk.

Røros Chapel is a chapel in Røros Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the town of Røros at the north end of the Røros churchyard. It is a chapel in the Røros parish which is part of the Gauldal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The stone chapel was built in a circular style inspired by the Goahti of the Sami people in 1962 using plans drawn up by the architect Erik Guldahl. The church seats about 220 people. It is called a gravkapell in Norwegian which translates to "grave chapel" meaning that it is primarily used for funerals and burials in the nearby cemetery.

Røros Church or Bergstadens Ziir is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Røros Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. Located in the town of Røros, it is the main church for the Røros parish which is part of the Gauldal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The octagonal, whitewashed stone church was built in 1784 using plans drawn up by the architect Peter Leonard Neumann from Trondheim. The church seats about 1,600 people, making it the 5th largest church within the Church of Norway. It is also ranked by Riksantikvaren as one of the ten most high-profile churches in Norway. Since 1999, Røros Church is known as one of the concert venues of the Norwegian Advent Concert Series.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Røros Copper Works</span>

The Røros Copper Works was a copper mining company based in the town (bergstad) of Røros in what is now Røros Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The mines operated from 1644 until 1977. The Crown designated the area as a bergstad in 1647 and put Joachim Irgens von Westervick in charge, including rights to forests and water resources within a circular diameter of 90 kilometres (56 mi) around the town. The local farmers were given working obligations, such as transport and charcoal production for the copper works. Among the mines were the Storwartz mines, Hestkletten, Christianus Qvintus, Olavsgruven, Kongens Gruve, and Christianus Sextus. During its operation a total of 110,000 tonnes of copper and 525,000 tonnes of pyrites was produced.

The town is located along the river Hyttelva and along the Rørosbanen railway line, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) south of the village of Glåmos and about the same distance north of the village of Os i Østerdalen in neighboring Innlandet county.

Glåmos is a former municipality in the old Sør-Trøndelag county in Norway. The 239-square-kilometre (92 sq mi) municipality existed from 1926 until its dissolution in 1964. It was located in the northern part of what is now Røros Municipality in Trøndelag county. It included all the area around the headwaters of the river Glåma and the areas surrounding the northern and western sides of the lake Aursunden. The administrative centre was the village of Glåmos where Glåmos Church is located.
