Swedish is a North Germanic language spoken natively by at least 10 million people, predominantly in Sweden and in parts of Finland, where it has equal legal standing with Finnish. It is largely mutually intelligible with Norwegian and Danish, although the degree of mutual intelligibility is largely dependent on the dialect and accent of the speaker. The Alternative is a green political party in Denmark. The party was publicly launched on 27 November 2013 by former Minister of Culture Uffe Elbæk and Josephine Fock, the first of whom had been Members of Parliament for the Social Liberal Party. Elbæk was the leader of the party until February 2020, where he stepped down and was succeeded by Josephine Fock. It collaborates with DiEM25 at the European level.
Universal basic income has been debated in the Nordic countries since the 1970s. It has mostly been seen as a radical and utopian proposal and not taken seriously by the big political parties. However, 1 January 2017 to 1 January 2019 Finland conducted a basic income pilot which got international attention. There are also some political parties and some politicians and journalists in all nordic countries who are pushing for the idea of a guaranteed income. The Green parties for example, are generally interested in universal basic income, as well as the Pirate parties.

Theresa Birgitta Brønnum Scavenius is Danish politician. She is an associate professor at Aalborg University Copenhagen with climate politics as her research area. She is a member of the green political party The Alternative, and was a candidate at the 2019 Danish general election, but did not get elected. She was a candidate to succeed Uffe Elbæk as political leader of the party, when he resigned in February 2020, but lost to Josephine Fock.
Danish withdrawal from the European Union is the hypothesis that Denmark might leave the European Union (EU). Withdrawal is advocated by Danish Eurosceptics and opposed by Danish Pro-Europeanists: each of these groups spans the left–right political spectrum. The immediate objective of the Danish Eurosceptics is to have a referendum on their proposal. HAN (HIM) is a Norwegian drama film from 2021 directed by Guro Bruusgaard. The film is Bruusgaard's first feature film as a director, and she also wrote the script with Fijona Jonuzi. The film was produced by the production company Alternativet, which Bruusgaard runs together with Katja Eyde Jacobsen, Mariken Halle, and Magnus Mork. The film premiered during the Tromsø International Film Festival in January 2021 and the cinema premiere was on June 4, 2021.
