Salvador Infante Meyer (born 4 November 1951) is a Salvadoran chess player. He has won the Salvadoran Chess Championship 4 times (1982, 1985, 1994 and 1995). He was also part of the Salvadoran team which won the gold medal at the 1976 Against Chess Olympiad in Tripoli.

Sulennis Piña Vega is a Cuban chess player holding the FIDE title of Woman Grandmaster (WGM). She won the American Continental Women's Championship in 2001 and 2005. These two victories qualified her to play in the Women's World Chess Championship in 2001 and 2006 respectively. She was knocked out in the first round by Xu Yuanyuan in the former and by Ekaterina Kovalevskaya in the latter. Also in 2006, Piña Vega won the Pan American Women's Championship in San Salvador.

The chess championship of El Salvador is organized by the Salvadoran Chess Federation, and was first held in 1946. FIDE Master Boris Pineda has won the title a record eight times. A separate Salvadoran Women's Chess Championship has also been held annually since 1993.
