Raja Hindustani is a 1996 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Dharmesh Darshan. It tells the story of a cab driver from a small town who falls in love with a rich young woman. Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor play the lead roles. Released on 15 November 1996, this film's plot was inspired from the 1965 film Jab Jab Phool Khile, starring Shashi Kapoor and Nanda. The film's music was composed by Nadeem-Shravan, with lyrics by Sameer. It went on to win five Filmfare Awards, including the awards for Best film and Best Actors, and seven Screen Awards.
Saathiya is a 2002 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Shaad Ali and produced by Mani Ratnam and Yash Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke is a 1993 Indian romantic comedy-drama film, directed by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Tahir Hussain, with screenplay written by Aamir Khan and Robin Bhatt, and with a musical score by Nadeem-Shravan. It stars Juhi Chawla and Aamir Khan in the lead roles, with Sharokh Bharucha and Kunal Khemu in supporting roles. Upon release, the film fetched the Filmfare Best Actress Award for Juhi Chawla. The film has also garnered the National Film Award - Special Jury Award / Special Mention, and the Filmfare Best Film Award. The film's plot is heavily inspired by the 1958 movie House Boat. The film was remade in Telugu as Bhale Maavayya starring Suman.

"Rangabati" is perhaps the most popular recorded song in Odia. Jitendra Haripal, a 2017 Padma Shri awardee, is the male singer of the song. The song was first recorded for All India Radio in the mid-1970s. A record company from the then Calcutta, Indian Record Manufacturing Company Ltd (INRECO), re-recorded the song in 1976. The disc release was delayed due to a dispute and finally released in 1978–79. The Sambalpuri song was written by Mitrabhanu Gauntia, composed by Prabhudatta Pradhan and sung by Jitendra Haripal and Krishna Patel. In the 1970s and 1980s, the song gained popularity for being commonly played in marriage processions and Murti immersion. The song gained official recognition when it was played in the tableau of Odisha as part of the Republic Day celebrations at New Delhi in 2007. The lead singer Jitendra Haripal was also felicitated by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik later that year. It was also notably used in the celebration of victory during an international cricket match in Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. "Rangabati" was recreated in many other languages of India and has been recreated in Telugu for a movie.

The soundtrack album released digitally on 6 January 2020 on the Aditya Music label. It is the first Indian feature film soundtrack to have more than 1 billion-views on YouTube.
