The San Jose Prune Pickers (also called the Bears, Fullers, Brewers, Dukes, Athletics and simply San Jose Baseball Club) were a minor league baseball team located in San Jose, California. They competed in the California League and its various offshoots and predecessors on and off from 1885 through 1915.
The city would later be represented in the minor leagues by the San Jose Red Sox and San Jose Giants.

The California League is a Minor League Baseball league that operates in California. Having been classified at various levels throughout its existence, it operated at Class A-Advanced from 1990 until its demotion to Single-A following Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues. The league temporarily operated for the 2021 season as the Low-A West before reassuming its original moniker in 2022.
Excite Ballpark, previously known as San Jose Municipal Stadium or Muni Stadium, is a baseball park in San Jose, California. It is the home of the Minor League Baseball San Jose Giants, an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. The team plays in the North Division of the California League. The stadium is also home to the San Jose State University Spartans college baseball team. Local high school baseball divisions also use the ballpark as their championship field. The stadium also hosts concerts, weddings, car shows, and many other community events. It has been the home field for the San Jose Owls, San Jose Red Sox, San Jose Jo Sox, San Jose Pirates, San Jose Missions, San Jose Bees, and the San Jose Expos minor league teams.
The Fresno Grizzlies are a Minor League Baseball team of the California League and the Single-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. They are located in Fresno, California, and play their home games at Chukchansi Park, which was opened in 2002 in downtown Fresno. They previously played at Fresno State's Pete Beiden Field from 1998 to 2001.

Juan José Beníquez Torres is a former center fielder in Major League Baseball who played for the Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, California Angels, Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals and Toronto Blue Jays in all or parts of 17 seasons spanning 1971–1988. Listed at 5' 11" (1.82 m), 150 lb. (68 k), Beníquez batted and threw right-handed. He was born in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico.

The Watsonville Pippins were a minor league baseball team based in Watsonville, California. The Pippins played briefly as members of the Class D level California State League in 1913. The Pippins were preceded in minor league play by teams that played partial seasons in two other leagues. The Watsonville "Babies" played briefly at the end of the 1898 Pacific Coast League season and were followed the next season by the Watsonville "Hayseeds" of the 1899 California League, who folded during the season. The Watsonville Pippins hosted 1913 home games at Loma Vista Park.
Andrew Jose Suárez is an American professional baseball pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the San Francisco Giants. He has also played in the KBO League for the LG Twins and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows. The Giants selected Suárez in the second round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft.
Heliot Lemuel Ramos Lebrón is a Puerto Rican professional baseball outfielder for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Giants selected Ramos in the first round, with the 19th overall selection, of the 2017 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2022.
